Software Requirement Engineering
Scenario based on IEEE Requirements Engineering Document Specification Template Project Name: Adaptive Learning Renewable Energy Microgrid Software (AL-REMS) By: Nadya Noorfatima Student Number: 201924262 I. Introduction 1.1 Purpose The purpose of this document is to elaborate the scenario of Adaptive Learning Renewable Energy Microgrid Software (AL-REMS). The scenario is going to be explained as description of technology, product, business, and enterprise based on stakeholders and services point of view. This document is intended for users and potential developers. 1.2 Document Conventions This document was created based on the IEEE template for System Requirement Specification Documents and IEEE Guide to Software Requirements Specifications. 1.3 Intended Audience and Reading Suggestions Beginner users, such as students, who want to use this software for simulating power system microgrid (Renewable Energy microsources, Battery-based microgrid system, etc) Advanced/Professional users, such as engineers or researchers, who want to use AL-REMS for more complex and demanding microgrid simulation. The one that also need real time monitoring microgrid. Programmers who are interested in working on software issues. 1.4 Product Scope AL-REMS is a tool so that people can simulate one or more microgrids systems and analyze the graph of results. Users can modify the microgrid system based on their own data and analyze the result and compare it to one another. AL-REMS provide any type of microgrid scenario by of update technology of microgrid utilization. AL-REMS equipped with advance mathematical analysis to simulate or even optimizing the microgrid system. It also can perform real time monitoring process to the real microgrid. II. Overall Description 2.1 Product Perspective AL-REMS is a software that is developed by someone who understand benefit of implementation of distributed generation into the power utilities as simulating it and analyzing it by using block diagrams and graphs. It can be operated by using code or just plug in the blocks into designated area. 2.2 Product Functions 1. AL-REMS has several functions such as: a. Simulation Function - In simulation function there are several sub functions. The main sub function is running the simulation. Meanwhile there are also pause simulation (to stop the running simulation in certain amount of time and able to be continued), break simulation (to stop the running simulation however it can’t be continued from last condition), and step running (to run the simulation per action to perform sequential simulation). - Tools function provides utilities needed to perform the simulation. It contains block diagrams with specific function. Several block diagrams even can be modified based on needs. You just need to drag and put the block diagram and connect it to one another then press the simulation button. b. Analyze function - Analyze function can be started after finishing the design in simulation function. There are several functions in this section such as, graph analysis, system stability analysis, resiliency analysis, and fault analysis. Those analyzations are needed as basic and advance microgrid design determination process. By using data result we can optimize the system. c. Monitoring function - In monitoring function, you can check whether the system works well or not. You can see the power flow thorough the system in real time. This function is possible due too communication tool that attached in the microgrid and PC. Monitoring function provides real time measurement, real time protection status, and even give direct command to the grid. 2.3 User Classes and Characteristics 1. Basic Users, such as students, who us AL-REMS to perform microgrid simulation 2. Advanced/Professional Users, such as engineers or researchers, who want to use AL-REMS to extend their analysis of microgrid system 2.4 General Constraints 1. The software size will be very large since it contains high order mathematical calculation. 2. High performance computers are needed to perform maximum simulating process. 3. It lacks control functions so users must be able to develop their own control systems. 2.5 Assumptions and Dependencies 1. This software is suitable with several operating systems there are: Windows (7, 8, 10), and Linux. 2.6 System Scenario AL-REMS is a software that can visualized existing microgrid by importing IEEE bus schemes or building your very own microgrid by put and drag each microgrid components. So, you can design from scratch or using other templates. Each components specification can be modified by using your own calculation or factory specification based on the brand name. This is important for professional engineering and researchers. They can get practical yet optimal product and see whether it increase the capability of the microgrid. After designing process, you can simulate the microgrid and see the result and analyze them. This software can also connect to the real grid in real time process. So, users can monitor the microgrid without directly come to the field. For this process, another tool is needed such as communication tool to provide connections between microgrid and PC.
