DeFi
DeFi TVL and usage grows outside Ethereum mainnet
2024 DeveloperReport.com 142

DeFi:
Ethereum mainnet leads in TVL with 7x more TVL than Solana,
the next largest competitor.
key takeaways
Ethereum mainnet DeFi continues to innovate: Re-staking
emerged in 2023 and grew to $30.6B this year. Re-staking is the 4th
biggest sector by TVL and the largest new sector in DeFi.

EigenLayer invented the re-staking sector and grew developers

more than 2x in 2024. 53% of EigenLayer developers are
Established and 39% are Full-time, demonstrating a high share of
committed devs.

Solana leads in Decentralized Exchange transactions. 81% of

DEX transactions are on Solana.

Ethereum mainnet is #2 by DEX transactions. Ethereum mainnet

and its L2s together settle the most DEX volume, ~2x more than

Solana, the next biggest chain.
