“Import file” command allows to select the desired drawing file (*.dxf, *.e2 or *.d file) from the
“Open Drawing” window, in order to insert a drawing in the currently open symbol. The import file
command just is activated when the desired symbol is open.

In case of diagram, imported drawing can be used just for reference because the imported drawing
does not have any entity properties. It just geometries. In other words, even if the shape of imported
geometries are Pipe, Fitting and Equipment, these geometries do not have any entity properties as
Pipe, Fitting and Equipment.

Task 1.7.2 Edit Menu
command
Edit / Cut, Copy, Paste

The Cut command essentially works like the copy command. The only difference is that the
selected entities will be removed from the current drawing after being copied to the
clipboard.

The Copy command allows to copy existing entities (e.g. lines, polylines, circles, connection
points, etc.) from one drawing to another. Objects that are copied are stored on the FSYSD
internal clipboard. This clipboard can only be accessed from FSYSD itself.
After starting the copy tool select the entities you want to copy to the clipboard by means of
the existing commands in the submenu or clicking directly on the desired entities. Finally
select the desired point where you want to paste the entities selected previously.

The Paste command inserts the entities previously copied to the clipboard. Paste is especially useful to transfer entities from one drawing to
another. All layers needed by the clipboard contents are pasted into the layer list. Existing layers with the same name don't get overwritten.
Activate the paste function. Finally set the target point of for the pasted entities with the mouse or enter a coordinate in the command line.

Select
▪ The Single command marks just the selected object in the scene. The selected object is highlighted in green color, overlapped on the current
drawing.
▪ The Select all command marks as selected all the objects existing in the scene. The selected objects are highlighted in green color, overlapped
on the current drawing.
▪ The Unselect all command cancels completely any existing selection in the scene (all entities will be unselected). Therefore, this command is
the opposite to the Select all command.
▪ The Invert selection command takes the non-selected objects marking them as selected, while the already selected objects become
unselected.

Additional tips for selection

▪ If you click within the drawing other than on an entity and drag the cursor, the
program goes into automatic selection mode. Dragging the cursor to the right causes
the program to use a window selection. Only those entities that are completely
enclosed within the window will be selected. The program displays the selection
window using a solid line, and also displays an arrow along each side of the selection
window to indicate that objects within the window will be selected.

Hatch
▪ Fills an area surrounded by existing entities with a hatch pattern or a solid color.
▪ Procedure
• Prepare the entities that surround the hatching area so they form a closed contour. The contour must be
closed in a way that one entity is connected to the next one.

• Launch the hatching action.

• Select the contour(s) you want to fill. Note that islands inside contours will get hatched if they are not
selected.

• Click the right arrow button in the CAD toolbar to continue.

• A dialog for the hatch options is displayed. Choose a hatch pattern, scale factor and a rotation angle for the
hatch pattern. If you want to fill the object with a solid color instead of a pattern, check the checkbox "Solid

In these turiales will be reviewed the followingsmart objects:

1. To insert a single line diagram 3. To insert an entry lable

2. To insert FROM/TO connectios 4. To insert a connection block
5. Voltage drop information Page 50-55
Smart insertion utilities This smart object allows to insert a single line diagram
with the wiring of any switchboard. Once the wiring is
Task 1.8.1 drawn in the diagram it is possible to edit any element
that this smart object has drawn.

command Once the Downstream single-line [1] command is run,

system shows a preview with all the equipment
Smart insertion / Single line diagram connected and their cables.
A tool bar [2] is showed at the top of the work area
This smart object is available by clicking the right mouse button over an with the next possibilities:
equipment placed in a diagram
3. Here it’s posible to choose whether to show the class
symbol of the connected equipment or a simplified box.
4. Factor parameter allows user to choose a correct
scale for their purposes.
2 5. Spacing allows to define the distance betweeen the
connected equipment.
6. Direcction buttons allow to choose between a vertical
or a horizontal arrangement of the single diagram
7. It also allows the representation of a sub-set of the
cables connected to the selected equipment symbol in
an electrical diagram.
From this list, the user will be able choose which cables
will be inserted in the diagram, as well as the order of
insertion of the cables in the diagram.
By default all the cables will be marked, but the user will
be able to unmark those cables that will not be inserted
1 in the diagram.

7 Once the user has accepted the cables to be considered

in the automatic “downstream single-line” process, the
application will behave as before, showing a “preview” of
the resulting circuits and allowing the user to decide the
relative position of the circuits, as well as the symbol
In these turiales will be reviewed the followingsmart objects: representation, scale and spacing between circuits.

Task 1.8.2 Smart insertion utilities
command
This smart object is available by clicking the right mouse button over an end
Smart insertion / FROM-TO Label cable node that is on air, that is not connected to any equipment

This smart object allows to insert an smart label at the

end of a cable that allows to open in write or read only
mode any diagram in which this cable is placed, by right
mouse button over an end node of a cable and using the
command New FROM/TO connection [1]

2. This label may content any contexual information of

the project, and it is posible to define other label
patterns in the Symbol work mode of FSYSD, by defining
new labels and storing them under the
Default_Config/FromTo library.
Once these labels are defined the desired one must be
chosen in the Preferences utility, in the diagram TAB.
3. Once this label is placed in a diagram, it is posible to
delete again or “Open related diagram”, by clicking right
button mouse over the cable node in which it has been
drawed.
4. If “Open related diagram” is chosen, system will show
a window with a diagrams list in which this cable has
been placed, and will allow users to open one of these
diagrams to work on it or show a read only one in e
viewer, depending on whether Read or Write Open
would is chosen.
