How To Guide v1.01
How To Guide v1.01
The files needed and listed below in the document are in the “So6ware” folder of the zip file. The
“Frequencies” folder contains user uploaded frequencies to program straight to your radio and get you
started.
For future reference this radio is also sold as a TXQ Y8000 - https://txq-radio.com
Hopefully all this info compiled will make life easier for beginners. Thanks to everyone for sharing this info.
BACKUP YOUR RADIO USING THE SOFTWARE YOU HAVE INSTALLED BEFORE PROCEEDING AS IT WILL
PROBABLY LOSE YOUR CHANNELS IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SET IT UP!
If your radio is brand new no need to backup, this document will presume your seMng up from fresh or
wish to erase everything.
Open the Zip file in the “So6ware” folder called “v1.0.231117 Modified Config So6ware.zip” and extract it
to a folder on your PC. Once extracted you will have 3 files, “_config.ini” “_config - Backup.ini” and the one
to run “Latest - v1.0.231117 Hiroyasu IC-980 Pro.exe”
Upon running the so6ware, you will no]ce at the boBom it will show the expanded frequencies VHF -
110Mhz to 299Mhz and UHF - 300Mhz to 590Mhz. At this point I would recommend you read your own
new radio and save the file in case of issues later!
Once you write anything back to the radio the bands will be opened up. There are 3 sets of saved channels
in the “Frequencies” folder to start you off including the factory seMngs in case you mess up any seMngs
and need to go back to scratch. Don’t forget you should also have read and backed up your own radio
earlier in case of issues.
The “Adjustments” Menu – Hidden Codes
The config file with the v1.0.231117 so6ware will also ac]vate the “Adjustments” menu in the so6ware and
this version will allow 6.25Khz channel spacing so PMR is easily programable.
Upon entering the code ww01 and geMng a new window with seMngs showing, it is important to BACKUP
your radio by reading your values from the radio and saving. Any changes here that go wrong will stop TX
of the radio as reported on the Facebook group. BE WARNED! USE AND PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
If you just try to change seMngs in that secret menu before you read from the radio most likely you'll get
no TX on the radio because ini]al program values have nothing to do with the values read out from the
radio.”
Here are the codes you can use with the “Adjustments” menu:
ww01
wwuser
wwpd
wwband
wwjxs
updata
Enjoy the radio, thanks for everyone pos]ng on Facebook and Telegram to make this file and guide
possible!
