pipe at a rate of 9.5 lit/s.
* (i) The first section of the pipe has a diameter of 8.0 cm what is the flow
speed of the oil and what is the mass flow rate.
* (ii) Second section of the pipe has diameter 4.0cm what is the flow speed and
mass flow rate is that section.

water at point in the pipe where its diameter is 0.6cm.

Q6.(a) Discuss gravitational potential energy. Deduce expression for the change
of P.E of a System consisting of two masses 'm' and 'M' (m<M) that interacts
through the gravitational force. Assuming 'M' to be at rest and 'm' moves from
point 'a' to 'b' along a radial path.

Q6.(b) The weight of a body in an elevator is 800N. When it is moving up with


acceleration 'a' and its weight when elevator is at rest is 600N. Find the
acceleration 'a'.

Q6.(c) Why heavier and lighter bodies fall freely with same acceleration?
Explain.

Q7.(a) What is co-efficient of viscosity? Derive the relation between co-


efficient of viscosity and tangential force required to maintain the velocity
gradient. Also explain stoke's method to determine co-efficient of viscosity.
