ACADEMIC
PROJECTS -Bore well rescue machine for child August 2016-May 2017

India, with nearly 1.3 billion people, extract water for different purposes mainly from Bore wells. With the help of
modern machinery, digging bore hole is not a challenges any more. But, it is found in many instances that if water is
1
not found, these holes are left without closing. Gradually, these unclosed holes become a potential life threatening
source for playing children. Actually, with the passage of time, these holes get enlarged due to rain and other reasons.
When unaware Children come closer to these dangerous Bore holes, they may get stuck. There were lots of example
in the past which reported that children were entrapped in to these Bore holes up to the depth of 30-40 metres. To
rescue trapped child is not only a difficult but also a risky task, as a small delay in the rescue operation may cost the
child his/her life. To lift the child out from narrow confines of the bore wells, we had made a machine which may be
useful in rescuing the child alive. This machine may helpful to provide oxygen to the trapped child. The on board
camera may provide real time information about condition of the child. This machine is consist of rope pulley
arrangement, electronic DC motors with sensors may give a real time basis info about the force to be applied to
capture the child. It may be useful in rescuing the child in the least possible time and in the safest possible way.
