1.​ Describe Rizal’s life as represented in the film?


●​ Dr. Jose Rizal, at the age of 35 were exile in Dupitan for four years of his life. The film focuses on
Rizal’s life in Dapitan. He lived in a simple and productive years of exile. Rizal may have refused
the conditions of Father Pastells in order for him to live in the parish convent however
commandant Captian Ricardo Carcinero welcomed him wholeheartedly. He built his house,
school, dorm for his students, hospital in his purchased land near the seashore of Dapitan. He
spent his time cultivating his purchased agricultural land, built a water system, practiced his
physician profession, collected insect and other agricultural pest that he would sent to his friend
Mr. Bluemintritt to be tested. Because of lack of financial capabilities the Dapitan parents would
send their children to Rizal for them to learn Not just how to read and write but also about
martial arts, life, and living one of those of his students was Joselito Aseniero. One of Rizal’s wish
was for his mother to lived together and for him to cure his mother’s eye, and it was soon
granted. Patients comes to Rizal from other far away land just to be cure, one of the patient was
accompanied by his daughter Josephine Bracken who soon become Rizal’s lover. They wish to be
joined in matrimony but no parish priest would perform, they just vows and married on their
own eyes. Rizal and Josephine Bracken had a baby but it died later on because of premature
birth. Dr. Pio Valenzuela visited Rizal to inform him and give command and advice about the
upcoming revolt, but Rizal refused the violent revolution the Katipunan planned. Rizal at the
time in Dapitan exile finally wishes to settled down in Dapitan but orders came in saying he
would be sent to Cuba to be a physician there, but it didn’t happen for he was then executed.

2.​ What were the aims of La Liga Filipina? We’re this aims attained? How?
●​ As listed in the constitution Rizal prepared, the Liga’s aims were: First to unite the whole
archipelago into one compact, vigorous, and homogenous body; Second mutual protection in
every want and necessity; Third defense against all violence and injustice; Forth encouragement
of instruction, agriculture, and commerce; and Lastly study and application of reforms. Yes. It
was attained but it the La Liga Filipina was no longer in Rizal subordinate at that time it was
second established. It was slowly attianed as years pass by and it reach its maximum spirit in
every Filipino's heart and soul when Rizal was executed and countless uprising revolution after
two years of his death.
3.​ What are the implication of Rizal’s execution to nation building?
●​ What had happened to Rizal was a big impact on us Filipino and on our nation building. His was
like a trigger on our heart and soul consciousness and awaken our love and dignity for our
country. His sacrifice life and works play a big role as our strength, the small voice that was made
of his skillful and unexplained work of hand, thought of his mind that still implicate nowadays in
the invasion of the intangible and tangible parties forces to invade our hearts, minds, souls of
one of us until now, and especially the invasion on our country unconsciously unknown.
