Observe 3 teachers from each level and take note of the necessary information as
required below. Please observe Privacy Act, wear mask and face shield, and observe a
1-m distance from someone you want to talk to. If the teacher does not want her/his
name or personal information printed, record them in a personal note so you will not

ANALYZE
A. Qualities of Teachers
1. What quality(ies) is (are)most often possessed by the teachers in all the three
levels of the educational system? What do you think is the most important?
The qualities that most often possessed by the teachers are prepared, optimistic,
fair, and approachable. I think the most important quality of a teacher is being optimistic.
A teacher who is optimistic feels that every kid in her class will achieve academic
success. An upbeat teacher believes that they can improve on the previous year's
performance. Being optimistic gives a positive vibes to the students to make them more
motivated in everyday class. This may have an impact on students’ performance, and
they believe they can make a positive difference in student learning.
2. Which quality(ies) is/are seldom possessed by the teachers but are important?
Why are they important?
The qualities that are seldom possessed by the teachers but are important are
creative, having a sense of humor, admitting mistakes/humility, and self-reflective.
These are important even though they are seldom possessed by teachers in some
grade levels. Being creative in class improves learning directly by raising motivation,
expanding knowledge, and encouraging joy to the students. It’s important to have a
sense of humor in classroom. Teachers that employ humor in the classroom boost
student engagement, learning retention, and the student-teacher connection. Teachers
with a good sense of humor also experience less burnout and stress, as well as a
healthier work environment. Admitting mistakes is important too as this can serve as an
important lesson for students. Even if you are the teacher, it is acceptable to pause and
correct oneself. After all, we are human, and we, like our students, make mistakes from
time to time. It’s important to have a self-reflection. It allows you to reflect thoroughly on
your teaching, including what you do in the classroom, why you do it, and why it works,
allowing you to discover any improvements that could be made.

B. Skills of teachers
1. What skill(s) do you find are most needed by teachers to have? Why?
The skills that I found most needed by teachers to have are adaptability/flexibility,
patience, and information technology application. In today’s generation, we teachers
must be flexible and adaptable as we need to be aware that we will always need to be
changing up our teaching styles. Technologies that can be used in teaching like using
gadgets and other online platforms are what we are doing right now. On the other hand,
being patient to our students is what a teacher must really possess and also we must be
patient in learning new skills like the changes that pandemic brought to us now, using
digital learning tools and computers that other teachers may find difficult to use it.
2. What skill(s) do you find are least needed by teachers to have? Why?
The skill that I found least needed by teachers to have is creativity. Teachers can
teach without using creativity, students can learn anyway no matter what the teacher’s
teaching style is. As long as the teacher is dedicated and is optimistic to share their
knowledge to their students, that can be the creative way they can think.
3. Are skills of teachers in preschool different from those in the elementary and
those from the high school? Describe each briefly.
Yes, teachers in pre-school are more creative and patience because they are
teachings kids, and mostly these learners have different personalities. Other may hard
to handle, and teachers must really have patience in dealing with their pupils. Unlike
elementary and high school, mostly most of them are behave and more independent.
REFLECT
How do teachers’ qualities affect their teaching?
The personality and temperament of the teacher can have a beneficial or bad impact
on the teaching and learning process. If a teacher possesses positive quality
attributes such as compassionate, optimistic, fair, and approachable, he/she will be a
successful teacher and his/her students will be satisfied. Conversely, when you are
negative, unprepared, or irritable, your kids will reflect these qualities in their
attitudes.
Describe the difference in performance between a skillful and a less skillful
teacher.
Skilled teachers are clear about what needs to be learnt and how they will assist
students in learning it. If one strategy fails, they switch to another well-thought-out
strategy. Teachers who are good at what they do are continually learning - they are
students of teaching. On the other hand, teachers who are less skillful lacks the
necessary skills to provide high-quality instruction to their students. These teachers
have not been trained to use 21st-century teaching approaches, and the majority of the
lessons are teacher-centered.
