AFTER ACTIVITY REPORT ON BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AND STANDARD
FIRST AID TRAINING
Farmers’ Training Center, Poblacion, Carmen, Surigao del Sur
February 21-23, 2024

I. BACKGROUND
Rationale
Standard First Aid Training for students is rooted in the
importance of equipping young individuals with essential life-saving
skills and knowledge; it also enables students to take immediate
and appropriate actions to provide initial care until professional help
arrives. Early intervention through first aid can often prevent
injuries or illnesses from worsening.

Properly trained students can administer basic care, such as

controlling bleeding or performing CPR, to stabilize a person's
condition until medical professionals arrive. First aid training
empowers students with the knowledge and confidence to take
action in emergency situations. This sense of empowerment can
have a positive impact on their personal development and
contribute to a culture of responsibility and care within the
community.

MDRRMOs play a crucial role in disaster preparedness and

response. By training students in first aid, the MDRRMO ensures that
the community has a pool of individuals who can assist during
disasters when professional help may be delayed or overwhelmed.

Objective
To equip the learners on how to assess an incident;
understand the role and responsibilities of a first aiders; and know
with the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude to perform with
confidence standard first aid and basic life support techniques to
save lives. Lastly, to form a Junior Quick Response Team in three
schools.
