1. Introduction
Rconsole1 is a complete digital image processing console software specialized for the
digital X-ray detector RSM series, developed by DRTECH Co, Ltd.
Rconsole1 provides the best image processing solution for fine tuned quality images by
integrating with the X-ray generator and the digital detector. Rconsole1 not only
processes the acquired images but also complies with DICOM standards which allow the
user to transmit and receive data with the PACS system and print images through the
DICOM printer.
The Rconsole1 is intended for use with mammographic images acquired using digital
breast x-ray systems.

2. System Requirements
Rconsole1 supports the following Digital X-ray Detector manufactured by DRTECH Co,

3. Overview
In order to run the program, double click the [Rconsole1] icon on the desktop or select
‘Rconsole1’ from ‘Windows Menu’ – ‘All Programs’ – ‘Rconsole1’.
A login window as seen in [Figure 3] will appear if the program is properly initiated.
Enter the ID and Password, and then click the [Login] icon.

If you enter an invalid ID or Password, an ‘Error Window’ will appear as shown in [Figure
4] and you will not be able to log in.

3.2 Main Screen of Program
You will see the Rconsole1 main screen as in [Figure 5] after logging in.

Status display icons can be found on the lower left corner in the main screen as in [Figure

4. List
The List tab displays the lists of patients and studies, which can be divided into two
categories as described below.
Studylist (post-examination)
Display the examined studies.
You can edit/delete the examined studies on the list.
Note: The changes such as editing and deleting images on the list will not affect
data in the PACS server.
You can transmit examined images to the PACS server.
Refer to 4.2 Studylist for more details.
Please note!
The information on the Worklist and Studylist is stored on the Local Storage (HDD)
as default settings.
Every time the Rconsole1 runs, a new Worklist is retrieved from the PACS server
and stored on the Local Storage.
Only the contents on the list which are edited and deleted in the Rconsole1 affect
the Local Storage as default. However, edited records may be transmitted to the
PACS server using the ‘Send’ command.

4.1 WorkList
Display the list of patients. The list is displayed by clicking the [WorkList] icon on the
upper left side of the List tab.

① List of Patients
The types of information are as noted in [Table 2].
The displayed information as well as its order can be set in ‘Configuration’.
Click or drag the name of the information type (ID, Name, and etc.) to change the
order.
If you run Rconsole1 for the first time, set the column size that fits your needs and
the setting will be saved automatically.

② Search Bar & Refresh Icon
Search Bar
Search the entered value such as Patient, ID, Name, and Access Number in the
Worklist.
If you click the [Search] icon after entering the value to be searched, only
the relevant works will be displayed on the list.
Refresh Icon
Retrieve recently registered patients from the PACS server.

4.1.2. Add Examination Window
An ‘Add Examination Window’ appears when clicking the icon, as shown in [Figure
10] below.

① Patient Information
Patient information is entered according to the category described in [Table 4].
② Projection Information
Display the information related to projection.
Display registered procedures.
③ OK
Save the patient with the entered information and close the window.
④ Exam
Save the patient with the entered information and directly switch to the Exam tab for
examination.
Refer to 5. Exam for more details.
⑤ Cancel
Cancel the work and close the window.

4.1.4. Load Worklist (An EXCEL File)
Load a Worklist in an EXCEL file format.
① Path
Locate the path where the EXCEL file is saved.

Display the selected Worklist in the Worklist screen and close the window.

Cancel and close the window.

4.2 Studylist
Display the examined study list. When clicking the [Study List] icon on the upper side of
the screen, the study list will be activated.

① List of the Examined Patients
Display the list of the examined patients’ information.
Each row represents the information of one patient, and a single ID can have
multiple studies.
The column of the list can be changed by dragging the names of the categories
(e.g. ID, Name, and etc.).
Height of the list is adjustable using [Ctrl key] + Mouse wheel or using [Ctrl key] +
[Arrow key].
Types of information are as noted in [Table 6].
Patient Selection
Patient can be selected by left-clicking.
The selected patient is highlighted in red. In the '① Examined Patient List' and '②
Examined Study List per Patient’, an activated study is highlighted in darker color,
while an inactivated study is highlighted in lighter color.
The selected patients can be edited or deleted.

4.2.2. Merge Window
Merge the images and studies.
If a patient has multiple ‘Patient ID’, it is more convenient to group them by using this
function. Edit if the image and patient information do not match with each other.
Identical items selected in ① will be also located in ②if the same list is checked.

Transmit the selected items.
Every change is saved while being transmitted.
④ Close
Close the ‘Merge Window’.

Save the images of the selected study from the Studylist in a USB, CD, DVD or as PDF,
print them with DICOM Printer, and create a report.

Printer Selection
Select a printer from the drop-down menu.
Film orientation
Select a film orientation between portrait/landscape
Film size
Select the size of the film.
Smart Layout
Select the view position (CC, MLO, Left, Right) to display related images in the
screen. The screen is divided into the number of related images.

Set the print layout.
Zoom
Perform zoom in/out of the image.
② Preview
Thumbnail
The image to be printed appears in the thumbnail list on the right.
Preview
If an image is selected in the thumbnail, a large image appears in the center as a
preview screen.
Merge
Merge the divided screen which has been separated by the ‘Divide’ function.
Only adjacent screens of the same sizes can be merged.
The merged shape must be a square.
Divide
Divide the screen by the value set in ‘Layout.’
Rotate
Rotate the screen 90 degrees clock-wise.
Flip
Reverse the up and down sides.
Print
Print out using general printer.
Edit Overlay
Edit overlay texts which are displayed in the Review screen.

Perform printing with the DICOM Printer.

② Visibility Setting
Configure the visibility of items when using ‘Print’ and ‘Save as PDF’.

Set the current setting as the default setting
Changed default setting will be applied from the next new reports.

Only the patient information (ID, Name, Sex, Birth Date, and Age) can be edited,
when clicking the [Edit] icon in the patient list of the Studylist (upper part of the list).

Only the study information (Accession Number, Study Description, Sex, and
Schedule date & time) can be edited when clicking the [Edit] icon in the projection list
(lower part of the list) of the Studylist.

5. Exam
The Exam tab processes exam and edits images.
② Patient Information
Display ID, patient name, and study description.
④ Acquisition Settings
Auto Sending

When the [Auto sending] icon is activated and every scheduled exam is
completed, send images to PACS server automatically.
Skip review
When the [Skip review] icon is activated, screen transition to Review screen does
not occur after the image acquisition.
Implant processing
When the [Implant processing] icon is activated, image processing parameter will
be changed to the one for implant only.
Suspend
Suspend current exam and transit to the Worklist screen.
Send
Transmit the images to the PACS server or folder.
With a long-clicking on this icon, all examined images will be transmitted.
Change detector
Connect to another detector that is currently connected when clicking the button.

5.1 Projection List
① Time Machine
If there are remaining images of prior examinations in the Local DB, those images will
be displayed on the thumbnails.

Projection guidelines for the selected projection.

After selecting position, a projection list is added by clicking [OK].
Delete
After being selected, a projection list is removed by clicking [Delete].
Edit
After selecting a list, the same screen as the ‘Add View Position’ appears when
clicking the [Edit] Icon.
Select the list that you want to add and the click the [OK] icon to apply the change.
④Projection List
Display previously examined list or projection list to be examined.
After selecting a projection list, examining X-ray shows the Review Screen and
displays the examined images on the Viewer.
Double-clicking on an image brings the Review Screen.
If the manual dose input option is checked, you can input through the dose setting
window at the bottom of each projection.

6. Review
Perform editing the examined images.

Display ID, patient name, and study description.

Store the images in the Local Storage.
Pause
Pause the projection under progress and return to the Worklist screen.
The paused projection list is displayed in light brown color.
Send

upper right corner.

If there are images examined in the past, they can be displayed according to the
selected date.
Display a list of studies categorized by projections.
Display a collection of image editing icons.

Display the images examined in the past.
Note: There must be the images in the Local Storage.

A collection of icons required for image analysis and editing.
Display the currently configured list of icons.
The icons can be edited on the ‘Edit Toolbar Window’.
The [Edit] Icon is used to edit the Toolbar window.

Open the multi-image viewer window.
8 types of images are shown based on the currently set parameter.
Apply
Apply the currently set parameters to the image.
Reset
Reset the parameter to its initial setting.
Save parameter
Save the currently set parameters and apply them when performing the projection
of the relevant projection-position.

Set the DICOM character set. If language is selected in the program installation
sequence, this will be set automatically.
If this item is not correctly changed, some tag value of DICOM header will be not
correctly contained.

① Storage Delete
The [Delete] Icon deletes all images stored in the Local Storage.
Deleted images cannot be restored, so please make sure to perform a backup prior to
deleting images!
② Auto Delete
Auto Delete
If checked, all images satisfying the pertinent conditions are automatically deleted
from the PC storage.
Disk Size

If checked, images in the PC storage are automatically deleted once the used
disk space exceeds the set limit.
Max: maximum limit of disk space set for storage of images in the PC storage.
Period
If checked, images in the PC Storage are continuously deleted automatically,

ex1) Set to "2", "Month": Delete all images that were stored 2 months earlier as of
today
ex2) Set to "1" "Day": Delete all images that were stored 1 day earlier as of today.
The cycle may be set by one of the following;Day/Week/Month/Year

Terms Description
Preparation
- Aging for 20 minutes before starting calibration
- Remove Compression Paddle.
- Fully open Collimator to cover X-ray on the whole detector area.
- Put an Acryl Phantom (4cm) on Bucky.
- Set Grid type as “None” in RCali1 configuration. (When Grid Line Pattern appears, set
Grid Type as”1824C” or “2430C” depending on the product model)
Calibration Procedure
* Check the radiation field and clear Acryl Phantom as well as Bucky before calibration.
* If the Mean values of every image have more than 300Gy difference, you have to re-
take images.
1. Run Rcali1
2. Select the detector to perform the Gain Calibration from the Detector Menu. (Tool bar
→ Detector)
6. A main screen will appear. Proceed with the X-ray projection at this point in order to
acquire an image.
10. If the X-ray radiation dose is appropriate, please select [OK] and proceed with the
projections.
13. The next projection will take place after the projection standby timer (60 seconds)
disappears. The projection standby time may be set in Configuration.
14. The Gain Calibration results are automatically saved as Gain Map (*.GMP) when all
required images are projected and the existing files are backed-up.
15. The existing GMP files are backed up in the [RCali1 Installation Folder]\MAP folder. The
file name is as follows in [Figure 83].
