Predictive Modeling using R

Predictive Modeling using R

Objective
The objective of this project is to gain hands-on experience in predictive
modeling using R. Students will select a dataset, perform Exploratory Data
Analysis (EDA), and develop a predictive model to make accurate predictions.

Instructions
Dataset Selection:
o Download a dataset from Kaggle, Google Datasets, or any other
reliable source.
o Ensure the dataset is suitable for predictive modeling (e.g.,
classification, regression, etc.).
o Provide a brief description of the dataset, including:
▪ Source of the dataset
▪ Number of rows and columns
▪ Types of variables (numerical, categorical, etc.)
▪ Problem statement (what you aim to predict)
Predictive Modeling using R

Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA):

o Analyze the dataset to understand its structure and characteristics.
o Include visualizations and statistical summaries.
o Handle missing values, outliers, and perform feature engineering as
needed.
o Identify key features that influence the target variable.
Model Development:
o Split the dataset into training and testing sets (e.g., 70-30 or 80-20).
o Build predictive models using R (e.g., linear regression, logistic
regression, etc.).
o Compare model performance using appropriate metrics (e.g., accuracy,
RMSE, AUC-ROC, etc.).
Results and Analysis:
o Present the results of the models and compare their performance.
o Provide insights into the model's accuracy and reliability.
o Include predictions for the test dataset.
Predictive Modeling using R

Documentation and Presentation:

o Prepare a well-documented report summarizing your project.
o Include the following sections in your report:
▪ Introduction
▪ Dataset Description
▪ EDA
▪ Model Development
▪ Results and Analysis
▪ Conclusion
o Add clear explanations for your code snippets and visualizations.
Submission Details:
o Submit the following files:
▪ R script file (.R) containing your code
▪ Project report in PDF format
▪ Dataset file (if permissible to share)
o Ensure the project is submitted by the due date.
