BASIC COLOR

COLOR WHEEL
visual representation of colors arranged according
to their chromatic relationship

• Primary Colors - red, yellow, and blue.


• Secondary Colors - created by mixing any two primary
colors; orange, green and purple.
• Tertiary Colors - produced by mixing a primary color
with its adjacent secondary color.

A color scheme can help you achieve unity, harmony, or dynamic contrasts
• Monochromatic color schemes - A single base hue with shades,
tones and tints. Shades of colors are darker, and tints are lighter.
Examples of words that define monochromatic color sets include
deeply harmonious, undivided and lulling.

• Analogous Color Shemes - A group of three


colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.

refers to its level of brilliance
or dullness

These two models differ in their final variable - Lightness/Value.
While Lightness is how white a colour is, Value is how bright it is.

Each color has many different meanings. They can elicit different emotions or shape
our concept and reaction to them based on historical and global meanings.
Different cultures have different emotions or meanings for each color.
