Problem Statement:
The major problem of the online store is that when any sort of network error or power supply cut occurs, then the book starts from the
beginning. There is no bookmarks as well. There are no proper application or website to where the students can find study materials for their
examination under one roof. Students have to search a lot on the web to get complete study materials.
• Many independent bookstores struggle to compete with large online retailers and lack a robust online presence.
• Current systems for managing inventory, processing sales, and reaching customers are often manual, time-consuming, and inefficient,
resulting in lost revenue and potential for errors.
• Local customers looking for specific books at local bookstores may have limited means to find out if a book is in stock, leading to poor
customer experience.
Scope Included:
Book catalog browsing and search functionality.
User registration and authentication for customers.
Shopping cart and order processing.
Inventory management for bookstore staff.
Order tracking and status updates for customers.
Objectives:
The objective of this project is to develop an e-book store where books can be studied from the comfort of home
through the Internet.
The Objectives are:
To read and save the details of book and its author's name.
To provide an essence of online book store via simple and yet powerful medium.
View books of all categories, Economical, quick and time convenient.
Expected Benefits:
• The system will enable independent bookstores to compete more effectively in the online marketplace.
• Customers can easily search for books at their local bookstore, increasing customer experience and boosting sales.
• The system will automate key processes, reducing manual labor, costs, and human errors, allowing bookstore staff to focus on customer
service and other core functions.
• The system will provide data and reports to help bookstores manage their inventory and make more informed decisions about stock
management.
Technologies :
• The system will use a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack, HTML/CSS/JavaScript for the front-end, and a relational database to
store the inventory and customer information.
