Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of sampling and sampling distributions of the sample mean.

Performance Standard: The learner is able to apply suitable sampling and sampling distributions of the sample mean to solve real-life problems in different disciplines.

Week 5 Session 1 Session 2

Objective/Learning Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC):

Competency: Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC): Students can:
Students can:  find the mean and variance of the sampling distribution of the sample
 illustrate random sampling (M11/12SP-IIId-2); mean (M11/12SP-IIId-5); and
 distinguish between parameter and statistic (M11/12SP-IIId-3); and  define the sampling distribution of the sample mean for normal population
 identify sampling distributions of statistics (sample mean) (M11/12SP- when the variance is: (a) known (b) unknown (M11/12SP-IIIe-1).
IIId-4).
Specific Learning Objectives:
Specific Learning Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:  find the mean and variance of the sampling distribution of the sample
 illustrate properly the random sampling; mean;
 distinguish correctly between parameter and statistic through guess me  define the sampling distribution of the sample mean for normal population
activity; and when the variance is: (a) known (b) unknown; and
 identify sampling distributions of statistics (sample mean).  cite the importance of sampling and sampling distribution in real-life
situations through sharing.

Week 5 Session 1 Session 2

Values Integration: Quality Education: The students will learn to appreciate statistics in their life. From this lesson, students will be aware of the benefits of using sampling distribution. They
will also develop their team work especially in group tasks and enhance their decision making.

Response to the Cry of the Poor: Using the concept of sampling distributions, students can solve or address problems in the community.

Materials: Statistics and Probability Textbook, PowerPoint Presentation, DLP, Marker, Pen, Pointer, White Board, Eraser, and Calculator

Students will read the materials uploaded in Schoology.
