𝑓′′(𝑥), find the eigen values of 𝑇 and the ordered basis 𝛽′ for 𝑃2 (𝑅) such that the matrix
ofthe given transformation with respect to the new resultant basis 𝛽′ is a diagonal matrix.
4. For the linear operator 𝑇: 𝑃2 (𝑅) → 𝑃2 (𝑅) defined as,
𝑇 [𝑓(𝑥 )] = 𝑓(1) + 𝑥𝑓 ′ (0) + 𝑥 2 [𝑓 ′ (0) + 𝑓′′(0)], find the eigen values of 𝑇 and the
ordered basis 𝛽′ for 𝑃2 (𝑅) such that the matrix of the given transformation with respect
to the new resultant basis 𝛽′ is a diagonal matrix.
