CHAPTER III
METHODOLOGY
This section introduces the research methodology, data sources,
research tools, data collection process, statistical analysis methods,
study location, and the role of participants in the research study.
Research Design
This study aims to Analyze the Effectiveness of different Study
Techniques used by students to improve their learning outcomes. The
study was utilize descriptive correlational research approach.
Descriptive Correlational research design aims to provide a
comprehensive and detailed analysis of how different study techniques
impact learning outcomes among the Grade 10 students.(Baret, 2016)
Research Respondents
The respondents in this study are the Grade 10 students of
Lampitak National High School. The researchers had 20 participants in
Grade 10 Diamond and 20 participants in Grade 10 Amber, making a
total of 40 respondents involved in this study. The researchers will
select the participants using random sampling through a fishbowl draw
or lottery method.

Research Instruments
The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire
composed based on the objectives and research questions. To collect
data, researchers provide statements for respondents to answer. The
questions are in a closed-ended questionnaire type, where the
questionnaire and options are predetermined by AO Sakirudeen, 2017
entitled “Study Habits and Academic Performance of Secondary School
Students in Mathematics” and Joy Xu, 2021 entitled “The Impact of
Study and Learning strategies on Post-Secondary students Academic
Achievement”. In this research, the questionnaire will include questions
about the various study techniques used by students and how these
techniques impact their learning outcomes.
Data Gathering Procedure
The researchers made a letter for the approval to conduct the
study at Lampitak National High School, after the utilized
questionnaires have been corrected and approved. The researcher
explained the study’s importance to the respondents and clarified key
terms to ensure their understanding. Respondents were encouraged to
answer the questionnaire honestly. Random sampling was employed
for data collection were each grade 10 students had an equal chance
of being selected as a respondent. After gathering responses, the
researcher collected and tallied the data for interpretation.

Statistical Treatment
The following statistical tool was employed in the study.
To determine the different study techniques used by the
students, mean was used.
To determine the learning outcomes of the students, mean was
used.
To determine any significant relationship between the different
study techniques on learning outcomes among the students, pearson r
was used.
