Assignment: Reflection on Faculty Interview

Please reflect on your experience with Faculty Interview

1. The Basics:
a. Date of the experience: 12.03.2022
b. Who did you interview? Prof. Debabrata Samanta
c. How long did the interview last? About 10 minutes

2. What was the highlight of the interview?

The professor and I had a discussion about a prefetch file that is present on every computer and
about which he informed me that attempts to access it had been made for the past four years
without success.

3. What was the most surprising information you found out in the interview?

If you are able to encrypt this file you will gain access to a lot of information.

4. How was your perspective challenged during this experience?

Well, at first, when I learned about this file, I assumed it would be a simple task. I had assumed
that I could just Google it to learn how to access that file and immediately get the solution, but I
soon discovered that some information is not accessible through Google.

a. What diverse or new perspectives were you exposed to?


b. How did your perspective change because of this experience?

a. I received information about Linux shell programming and its advantages.


b. Because I like challenges it made me think about how can I access this file.

5. How does this experience relate to your future career and/or current classwork?

a. What skills did you learn and/or practice that you can utilize in other areas of your
RIT experience? What new connections did you make?

a. Although I didn't learn any new skills during this interview, it was nevertheless
helpful in guiding my career choice in programming.
