ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We are extremely grateful to our honorable Mr. Charles Shahi Thakuri for being a source of
inspiration and his constant support in the Design, Implementation and Evaluation of the
project. We are also thankful to him for his constant constructive criticism and invaluable
suggestion, which benefited us a lot while developing the project “Pharmacy Management
System”. He is very co-operative throughout this project work. Through this, it would be our
utmost pleasure to express our warm thanks to him for his encouragement, co-operation and
consent without which we wouldn’t be able to accomplish this project.
ABSTRACT

Pharmacy Management System application help pharmacist to manage pharmacy in the

systematic ways. Pharmacy Management System can make the work easier by giving the
details of medicine when its name is entered. A computer gives the details of medicine like
rate of medicine, and expiry date of the medicine. It becomes very difficult in the big medical
stores to handle the details of all the medicine manually, so by using this pharmacy
management system we can maintain the record of the all medicines.

Introduction

A pharmacist is a medical professional who dispenses medicine to patients according to a

prescription ordered by a physician or other clinician. Pharmacists have an in depth
knowledge of the chemistry of various medicine and how they react in humans, and also how
drug interact with each other.

Charles E. Rosebherg,1980
Pharmacists must accurately measure and package medicine, ensuring it dosage and safety to
be administered properly to a patient. While the pharmacist does not typically select or
prescribe the medicine, the pharmacist educates the patient on how to take the medicine and
what reaction or problems to be avoided. As medication experts, pharmacists are concerned
with safeguarding the public’s health in matter relating to medication distribution and use and
disease state management. Pharmacists play a vital role improving patient care through the
medicine and information they provide.

1
Project Objective

 To design a system that can keep and track of user.

 To design a system that is useful to handling medicine
 To design system that is much better than manual data recording system.
 To computerized PMS by creating neat work through minimizing wasting time as
well as removing the resources such as papers for data saving.

1. Project Description
2
Our Module “Database management system” requires this project report to know how
database is actually worked. And our capabilities to convert theoretical knowledge into
practical. As you know system is the way in which consult person manage all the inter-related
parts of the department. The record keeping system of Pharmacy will likely include in
manual form or in an electronic form. Our pharmacy staff is responsible for all the record
keeping system of pharmacy department of each working shift. Firstly, pharmacy does
contract with drug manufacturer specifying valid date of the contract. Furthermore, they
make drugs and sells to pharmacy and same drug is prescribed to patient by the doctors.

3
The entity relationship model is the most popular conceptual model used for designing a
database. The E-R model views the real world as a set of basic objects which is known as an
Entities represented by rectangle , their characteristics knows as an Attributes
represented by oval , and associations among these objects known as
Relationship. Once the entities types, relationships types, and their corresponding attributes
have been identified, the next step is to graphically represent these components using entity-
relationship (E-R) diagram. An E-R diagram is a specialized graphical tool that demonstrates
the interrelationship among the various entities of a database.

In the following E-R Diagram there includes five Entities like; Pharmacy, Employee, Drug
manufacturer, Drug, Customer with their different Attributes or Characteristics. Relationship
among Entities and their Attributes has shown as below:

6. Conclusion
The database design of Pharmacy Management System is done to create a framework for
programmers to build a strong and reliable Record of concern parties engaged with the
department which will be beneficial for the department in the area of maintaining sound
records of the concern parties.
We target a particular Pharmacy of our community to find out it’s outgoing and incoming,
invoice and so on.
