Problem 2
• A farmer owns 100 acres of land and wants to allocate it
among three crops: Wheat, corn and Soybean to maximize
their pro t. Every acre of wheat yields a pro t of Rs. 200, while
every acre of corn and soybean yield pro ts of Rs. 300 and Rs.
250 respectively. Every acre of wheat, corn and soybean
require 10,20, and 15 hours of labour respectively and 2,4, and
5 units of fertilizer respectively. The farmer has a maximum of
1200 labour hours and 500 units of fertilizer.
Problem 3
A farmer grows three crops: Wheat, corn and Soybeans. Each
crop requires speci c amounts of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P)
and Potassium (K) nutrients. The farmer needs to meet the
nutrient requirement of the crops while minimizing the cost of
purchasing three types of fertilizers: Fertilizer A, Fertilizer B, and
Fertilizer C. Each Kg of Fertilizer A, B and C cost 5 units, 7 units
and 6 units respectively. Each fertilizer contributes the following

C 3 2 2

Each crop requires the following minimum amounts of nutrients
Nitrogen(N): 100 units
Phosphorus(P):80 units
Potassium (K): 120 units
What is the optimal combination of fertilizers?
