Advanced Level Test on Area and Volume

Instructions:

1. Answer all questions in the space provided.

Questions:

1. A cube has a surface area of 486 cm². Find the length of its edge and its volume.

2. A cuboid has dimensions 12 cm × 8 cm × 6 cm. Calculate its total surface area and volume.

3. A cylinder has a radius of 7 cm and height of 10 cm. Find its total surface area and volume.

4. A cuboid has a lateral surface area of 240 cm². Its height is 10 cm, and one of its sides is 8 cm.

Find the other dimension and the total surface area of the cuboid.

5. A cylindrical water tank is 2.8 m in diameter and 7 m high. How many liters of water can it hold?

(1 m³ = 1000 liters)

6. The volume of a cube is 64 cm³. Find its surface area and the length of its diagonal.

7. A hollow cylinder has an external radius of 14 cm, internal radius of 10 cm, and height of 15 cm.

Find the volume of the material used to make the cylinder.

8. The ratio of the dimensions of a cuboid is 3:2:1. Its total surface area is 88 cm². Find its

dimensions and volume.


9. A cylindrical tin has a radius of 14 cm and height of 20 cm. It is open at the top. Find the cost of

painting it at Rs. 5 per cm².

10. The surface area of a cube and a sphere are equal. If the side of the cube is 6 cm, find the

radius of the sphere.
