ORACLE Error:
NID-00135: There are 1 active threads

While performing the database name change activity using the NID utility after the database restoration

on different server, we got the below error as shown in the screen shot.

SOLUTION
ON DATABASE SERVER – DO CLEAN STARTUP

As our database was opened in the MOUNT mode to perform the database name change activity. So, we
will first OPEN the database and then SHUTDOWN the database cleanly.

ON DATABASE SERVER – MOUNT DATABASE AGAIN

Post SHUTDOWN we will start the database again in MOUNT mode to perform the database name change
activity.

ON DATABASE SERVER – CHANGE DATABASE NAME USING NID COMMAND

Now you can see in the below screenshot that we were able to change the database name successfully
from UZMADB to UZMANEW.
