Natural Numbers Rules

Even numbers: 2n

Odd numbers: 2n + 1

Rule 1: If the last digit of a number is 2, 4, 6, 8, or 0, the number is divisible by 2.

Rule 2: If the sum of the digits of a number is divisible by 3, the number is divisible by 3.

Rule 3: If the number formed by the last two digits is divisible by 2 or 4, the number is divisible by 4.

Rule 4: If the last digit of a number is 0 or 5, the number is divisible by 5.

Rule 5: If the number is divisible by both 2 and 3, the number is divisible by 6.

Rule 6: If the number formed by the last three digits is divisible by 8, the number itself is divisible by

8.

Rule 7: If the sum of its digits is divisible by 9, the number is divisible by 9.

Rule 8: If the number ends with 0, the number is divisible by 10.

Rule 9: If the sum of the odd digits of the number is equal to the sum of the even digits, the number

is divisible by 11.

Rule 10: If the number is divisible by both 3 and 4, the number is divisible by 12.

Rule 11: If the number is divisible by both 3 and 5, the number is divisible by 15.

Rule 12: If the number is divisible by both 2 and 9, the number is divisible by 18.

Rule 13: If it ends with two 0's or if the number formed by the last two digits is divisible by 25, the

number is divisible by 25.
