Hi Balakrishnan, Re: how to Change default

The In-House Production time in MRP2 / Workscheduling view is used just for Re: how to Change default
browser in SAP Business ... 
planning purpose."

View all
"Use

The system requires the in-house production time to determine the planned
dates for planned orders in materials planning."

It shall determine you the planned dates but not the actual dates.

If you want to determine the actual dates then the system checks for the values
maintained in the Standard Value Key Values from Routing.

CA97N tcode is for calculating the In-House Production time and update the field
In-House production Time automatically into the Material Master from Routing. By
executing this transaction your In-house production time in Material master and
Routing are one and the same.

Hope this answer your question.

Hello Balakrishnan

As already mentioned on this thread, on transaction CO01 the routing will always be exploded and the in-

house production time is not considered.

Running CA97N will only make the in-house production time match the routing.

There are 4 dates in Production Order header screen.

Basic start/ Basic Finish , Scheduled start/Scheduled finish.

You cannot prevent system from reading routing while production order creation.
Routing will be used to calculate Schedule start & Schedule finish.

This is how system works.

1: it will determine date on which production order must be finished after deducting
SD lead times.

2: that date is copied to Basic finish date & Scheduled Finish date(Note System has
hrs for scheduled finish , while basic finish donot have any hrs)

3:System will determine work center of last operation & copy end time of workcenter
on that day next to schedule finish date.

4: Last operation times are deducted from that date & start time of set up is
calculated.

https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-q-a/inhouse-production-time-in-work-scheduling-view-is-not-getting-assigned-in/qaq-p/9778518 7/21
11/22/24, 9:36 PM Inhouse Production time in work scheduling view is... - SAP Community

5: Process repetes for all operation till it reaches first operation Set up time. It is
copied to schedule start date/time.

6: System will deduct material master lead time ( there is qty in Work scheduling
view, so it will calculate prorated lead time) from Basic finish time & calculate Basic
start time.

7: System will switch to forward scheduling , if start time calculated are in past+
allowed days in past setting.

8: Whole process of calculating timing will be repeted in forward schedule manner.

If you want to use only material master time, you can use Basic start & Basic Finish
date for all your reporting & ignore Schedule start & schedule finish dates.

Hope it helps,

Jatin

Hi Balakrishna,

There are two types of scheduling. They are

1) Basic Scheduling

2) Lead Time scheduling.

https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-q-a/inhouse-production-time-in-work-scheduling-view-is-not-getting-assigned-in/qaq-p/9778518 9/21
11/22/24, 9:36 PM Inhouse Production time in work scheduling view is... - SAP Community

Basic Scheduling: When you run the MRP and when you select Basic Scheduling,
the system will consider the In-House production days and will calculate your
basic start and finish dates. Basic scheduling doesn't need your Routing to
calculate the basic start and finish date as it completely depends on the Material
master settings.

Lead Time Scheduling: When you run the MRP with Lead Time scheduling, the
system calculates the dates based on the values (Setup , Run , Break times etc)
assigned to standard value keys in routing for the corresponding Work center.

As a result of MRP run and scheduling type the planned order dates are
calculated and when you convert your Planned orders to Production orders the
same dates shall be updated.

If you create the Production Orders manually then based on the scheduling type
(forward, backward, current date) it calculates the dates based on the values
maintained in the routing for each operations

Shyam

Hi,

Setup, machine and other times to be maintained in routing only. After that, use tcode
CA97/ CA97N to update these values in material master work scheduling view. This
step is required to minimise the issue raised during scheduling when you compare
basic date scheduling and lead time scheduling.

Sir,

As you suggested, I have updated the Machine and setup time in the

I executed the material in CA97N with indicator "Direct update" and output is
appearing with 0. It is not getting updated

Hi,

Kindly check with tcode CA97 and activate Update material master directly.

After material master update, system shows timings in 'Days' in work scheduling
view.

am I correct

Hi Balakrishnan,

After run the CA97N, system give you a log information how many
materials are ran in which is how many with errors like that. Please check the log
information where you can check the setup and processing time also. If your
value too low against your routing base qty value system will display with zero
value only (like .0003 Hr/Min). In this case you have to create/change your routing
base qty with more value.kindly check the value you have maintained in routing

https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-q-a/inhouse-production-time-in-work-scheduling-view-is-not-getting-assigned-in/qaq-p/9778518 14/21

with the base qty value. The another main reason is "Direct Update" indicator, as
you said that you have already activated that indicator. So, please check the
values you have maintain in your routing against the material.

As per our expert Mr.Anupam suggestion, system will consider only "in-house
production days" in MRP2 view when your are creating production order
manually. System will consider the values which you have updated in "Work
scheduling" view will be considered only if you create/generate production order
through MRP.

Thanks.

Dear sir,

Thank you I understood, but I have an issue in CA97N,

For a material, I have created routing with only Machine time as 2 hrs for the base
quantity of 1 Ea, when I executed the T-Code - CA97N, Processing time has been
calculated as 0.8 hrs. In my routing I have not maintained any setup / queue time.
Can any one tell me how Processing time has been calculated ???

Hi Balakrishnan,

As per your above value, system calculate the processing time based on
your machine time and assembly's base qty. You have also consider your work
center capacity, utilization rate, break time, operating time and No. of individual
capacities.

1 day = 24 Hrs, Machine time = 2 Hrs, Processing time = (1/24)*2*1( Assembly

base qty in routing, in your case it's 1 EA ) So, processing time as 0.083333 days.

The processing time depends on the order quantity. Please check this value with
different base qty, it will help to understand the calculation in better.

Dear sir,

Thank you, I understood the concept and I have created the routing
and updated the In house production time in master by CA97N as given below,

Operating time in scheduling tab in Work center = 16 hrs

The below details are given in routing,

Machine time = 2 hrs

Labor time = 2 hrs

Setup time = 5 hrs

Base quantity = 1 Each

As a result of executing in CA97N, the below results where shown,

Setup time = ( 1 / 16 * 5 * 1 ) = 0.31 days

https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-q-a/inhouse-production-time-in-work-scheduling-view-is-not-getting-assigned-in/qaq-p/9778518 18/21
11/22/24, 9:36 PM Inhouse Production time in work scheduling view is... - SAP Community

Processing time = ( 1 / 16 * 2 * 1) = 0.125 = 0.135

Interoperation time = 2 days ???????????????????????????

My issue is , how the system has calculated Interoperation time and why
the system has not considered the Labor time in this calculation.????

Will the system consider the routing formula anywhere ???

Is my understanding is correct ???

Please resolve the issue

Please Check the formula in scheduling tab for your work center. I hope
you used the standard formula "SAP002" for processing formula. If you want to
calculate processing time as per your requirement, you can create your own
formula and will assign it to work center scheduling tab formula fields.

standard formula

SAP002 = Machine Time * Operation quantity / Base quantity / Operation
