The Problem
Students with visual impairments struggle to
access lecture materials in image formats like
slides and charts. Traditional methods, such as
manual transcription, are slow, error-prone,
and not scalable. This creates a barrier to equal
learning opportunities, highlighting the need
for an inclusive, automated solution.
We use AWS services to automate
accessibility. Amazon Textract extracts
text from images, Amazon Rekognition
Identifies objects and labels in slides for SOLLUTION
context ,and Amazon Polly converts the
processed text into speech. This real-time
pipeline provides visually impaired
students with accessible audio content for
effective learning.
