I. Project Description
Students have always used glue for schoolwork, but the process of
making glue can be hazardous to the environment. As a result, the researchers
decided to test Abelmoschus Esculentus (Okra) as an Alternative Adhesive. This
experiment will prevent harmful industrial releases from destroying the
environment. It can also help students and other people make their own eco-
friendly glue at home if they run out of glue.
II. Methodology
For this part, we will explain how we made the alternative adhesive using
Abelmoschus esculentus (Okra)
Set A
The researchers started by preparing the main ingredients: Abelmoschus
esculentus (okra) and water. Second, the researchers harvested two cups of
its pod. Third, the researchers boiled water, and added the 2 cups
of Abelmoschus esculentus, and waited an hour for the mucilage to be released.
Set B
To begin, the researchers prepared the main ingredients, Abelmoschus
esculentus (okra) and water. Second, the researchers cut the Abelmoschus
esculentus (okra) pod and body into two cups of pods and two cups of body.
Finally, the researchers boiled water and immersed a 4-cup pod of Abelmoschus
esculentus in it for an hour to release the mucilage.
Set C
The research begins with the preparation of the main ingredients, Abelmoschus
esculentus (okra) and water. 4 cups of Abelmoschus esculentus (okra) and body
were used in the study. Finally, the researchers ingested 4 cups of Abelmoschus
esculentus after boiling water (okra). We waited for the mucilage to be released
for an hour.
Set D
The research begins with the preparation of the main ingredients, abelmoschus
esculentus (okra) and water. The abelmoschus esculentus pod was cut during
the research (okra). Third, the researchers boiled water and added 4 cups of pod
abelmoschus esculentus (okra). Finally, we had to wait an hour for the mucilage
to be released.
III. Outcomes
Set A Set B Set C Set D
Notebook 00:21.03 00:22.36 01:04.38 00:23.07
Drying 1st 2nd 4th 3rd
Stickiness 1st 3rd 2nd 4th
After the experiment ended with notebook the results show that Set A has the
fastest drying time and has the stickiest results which means that product A is the
best for notebook.
The researchers conclude that Set C has the stickiest ability of 83.33% from
index card, bond paper, Oslo paper, yellow paper, and manila paper, which is 5
out 6. In addition, the remaining percent goes Set A which is the notebook. For
the fastest drying time Set D has the fastest drying time of 66.66% from yellow
paper, Oslo paper, bond paper and index card, which is 4 out 6. While the
remaining percent goes to Set A which is manila paper and notebook. Also, this
study concludes that Set A always ranks second resulting to 66.66% for both
drying and sticking. Furthermore, it also ranks first for both test achieving 16.67%
and the remaining percent gives first for the drying and 2nd in stickiness. The
tables above concluded that Set D has 100% poorest sticking ability which ranks
4th in every kind paper. In addition, Set B has 50% ability for both tests. Also, it
has 33.33% that ranks 2nd in drying and 3rd in in stickiness. Lastly, the
remaining percent ranks 4th in drying and 3rd in stickiness.
