Objectives
Promote environmental preservation and instill
environmental responsibility among Filipino

Contribute to the beautification of school
grounds. Trees provide shade, improve air
quality, and create a calming atmosphere,

and creating a more pleasant and conducive

GUIDELINES ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT -
"DEPED'S 236,000 TREES - A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR THE CHILDREN"
The Department of Education (DepEd) launches the Project entitled
DepEd's 236,000 Trees - A Christmas Gift for the Children. This is an
initiative that aims to promote environmental preservation and instill
environmental responsibility among Filipino children. The project will
simultaneously plant over 236,000 trees in different parts of the country,
with the participation of DepEd 47,678 public schools. This project serves
as a gift from the Department to ensure a clean and green environment
for Filipino children and future generations. The project provides a unique
educational opportunity for students to actively participate in tree
planting activities, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental
issues and promoting conservation efforts. Through hands-on learning and
practical application of environmental concepts, students will develop a
strong sense of responsibility towards the environment
III. Narrative Report
On December 6, 2023, the Department of Education (DepEd)
launched a special environmental initiative titled "236,000 Trees - A
Christmas Gift for the Children." This project is part of DepEd’s
commitment to environmental sustainability and aims to contribute to
reforestation efforts while engaging the school community in a
meaningful, festive activity. The event brought together teachers,
students, Student Government (SSG) members, and Girl Scout members
to participate in the tree-planting activity.
The primary objectives of the project were:
1. Promote Environmental Awareness: Raise awareness about the
importance of trees and their role in environmental sustainability.
2. Engage the School Community: Involve teachers, students, and
local organizations in a collaborative effort to contribute
positively to the environment.
3. Celebrate the Holiday Season: Align the tree-planting activity
with the Christmas spirit by contributing a meaningful gift to the
environment.
The event commenced with welcome remarks from [Name/Position],
who highlighted the significance of the project and expressed gratitude to
all participants for their support and involvement. Participants were given
a briefing on the tree-planting process, including how to handle and plant
