LEARNING EXPERIENCE 9
Participating in Maintaining Management Routines

Establishing predictable routines goo critical part of classroom management. Keeping

good management practices makes the class runs smoothly. A lot of behavioral problems in the
classrooms can be attributed to the failure of the teacher to establish management routines and
the failure of the students to follow them.

REEXAMINING YOUR ASSISTING TASK:

What are some of the difficulties in maintaining management routines based on your
own personal experiences?

I’ve encountered several challenges in maintaining management routines. One

significant difficulty is the differences in student behavior; some students may be easily
engaged while others can be quite disruptive, making it hard to establish a consistent
tone. Additionally, unexpected interruptions, such as administrative announcements or
external noise of students and in environment can break the flow of lessons and disrupt
established routines. Time management also poses a challenge, as the need to adapt
lesson plans to varying engagement levels sometimes leads to rushed transitions or
inadequate coverage of material. It is also important to cater the diverse needs of
students while striving for a structured learning environment which requires continuous
vigilance, flexibility and adaptability.

My Compilation of Strategies in Management of Routines

Understand Your Student

This is indeed important in building relationships with students because it can lead to better
engagement and prevent behavioral issues. Consider keeping a student profile that includes
interests, strengths, and areas where they might struggle, which can inform your teaching and
interactions.

Use of Technology
Integrate technology to facilitate learning and streamline organization.
Use tools like video viewing and ppt in class discussion . This keeps students organized and
engaged.

Set Effective Limits

Clear expectations are crucial. Involving students in creating these expectations can give them
a sense of ownership and responsibility, making them more likely to adhere to the rules.

Be Aware of the Causes of Behavior

This is a critical point. Incorporating regular check-ins with students can help identify issues
before they escalate. Maintaining open communication with parents about their child's
behavior can also provide insights into outside influences affecting the student.

Engage with Students

Making eye contact and using students’ names is a powerful way to foster connection and
accountability. Additionally, consider employing interactive teaching methods, such as group
work or hands-on activities, to keep all students engaged.

Use different teaching approaches and strategies

These varied approaches keep lessons interesting, support different learning styles, enhance
critical thinking, and help students develop teamwork skills, creating a more well-rounded
education.
