Screenplay

SCENE 1
int:hostel room

early morning (4am)

SHOT 1:

Dark room with eerie silence, main character is working and


preparing for his presentation, which is due in five hours,
in his room. The laptop light reflects on his face, he is
stressed, tired and sleepy.
Cam: close up shot of the clock "04:06"

SHOT 2:
same scene

Cam: mid
He puts his files on render and waits patiently for the
output...
Unable to stay awake, he falls asleep on his chair.

DREAM SEQUENCE: The character is already at his


presentation, it goes smoothly, the jury is very happy with
his work and they applaud him on his presentation.
A knock.

He looks at the door, but the jury does not react to the
sound.
Another knock.

He looks at the jury and they are all staring at him with a
deadpan look.
The main character is on edge, he goes to open the door. But
nobody is there..

The third knock.


The MC realizes he has been sleeping. He wakes up in cold
sweat. His friend is at the door trying to wake him up for
his presentation.

"Aye
He looks at the time.

A lot of time passes during his deep slumber and its 35


minutes to go for his presentation.
He panics.
He looks at his laptop screen and it reads

"RENDER ERROR"
Panic intensifies, He does not know what to do

He’s confused and is pacing back and forth in his room.


He unplugs the laptop charger and dumps his laptop in his
bag and storms out the door.
His PJs are still on!

He goes back and wears pants, storms out again.

SHHHHH

Running outside his building, He asks a scooter for a lift


NYOOOOOM
He hurries to his teacher and explains his last minute
problems

MC: "Sir! I left it on rendering the whole night but an


error popped up and i don’t know what to do!"
Sir: "Ah Why do you keep everything for the last minute?
Renders were supposed to be done 4 days ago"

"Anyway, let’s see what the damage is, show me the error"
Clicking and tapping on the laptop
click click tap click tap tap

The teacher solves the error and gives back the laptop.
SIR: "Finish the renders quickly, I’ll make sure you’re the
last to present"

Sir is part of the jury and is rooting for his student.


3.

IN THE LOUNGE
MC sits in the back and is still waiting for his renders
while his classmates present their work.
Tension is in the air and one can cut his stress with a
knife.
It’s his turn now, He looks at his screen and Hussah!! The
render is complete! His prayers have been answered.

The MC is confident now, he breathes a sigh of relief, takes


his laptop and goes to show them the fruits of all his
labour and stress.
He starts confidently, smiling.

The jury looks at him and awaits.


He looks at his screen, ready to present and it reads
"Battery low"

It immediately shuts down.


His dreams have died.
He is dumbstruck and looks at the camera..
