How to use your smart object file
Over the next pages there are instructions on how to add your own files using:
1) Adobe Photoshop 2) Affinity Designer
Included in your purchase there's also a JPG version of the file so you can use by placing
your design on top of the original image using any editing software that you are used to
working with. Set the blend mode to multiply for best results.
Please note that depending on the software you are using we may not be able to assist
you with your mockup.

First things first!

When you first open your mockup you won’t see anything. Or when you try to preview
you will see a “blank” document. Don’t worry! Everything is there!
To decrease file size and for faster downloads all layers are hidden. All you have to do
is turn on the “group” visibility! It's one click!
Adobe Photoshop
1- Open your .psd file in Adobe Photoshop
2- Click the small square to turn on visibility
of all layers.
3- Click the > (arrow icon) right next to the
square to uncollapse the grouped layers. 2
4- Double click the thumbnail of the layer 3
that is named “your card/design here” (red
color coded layer)
5- A new document is going to open where
you can add your design.
6- Add your design. Click save or (Ctrl+s) 4
(Command+s for Mac users).
TIP:Make sure your design touches all
edges of the the art board for better results.
Close the document (Ctrl+w) (command+w
for Mac users)
7- That’s it! Your design will be placed and
ready to use.
To save it go to -> File -> Export -> save for
web (legacy) -> choose where to save in
your computer.
*If your mockup has more than one
replaceable image simply repeat steps 4-6
Some of our mockups that display the same design from different angles. Will have 2
groups in the .psd file 1- Display all cards with the same design and 2- display each
design separately. We only do this to save you a bit of extra time when displaying the
same design as you only need to add the design once. For example:
Affinity Designer
Before opening the files on Affinity Designer please make sure that the option “Import
PSD smart objects where possible" is checked.
This is NOT the default, so if you have not checked this option before you need to do it
BEFORE opening you document. Here is how:

1- Open your .psd file in Aff. Designer 5- With the layer selected, at the top left
of your screen click “edit document”
2- Click the small square on the right to
turn on visibility of all layers. A new document/page will open, place
your card in this document (copy and
3- Click the circle with a triangle in the paste works great here)
middle to uncollapse the grouped
layers. Close the document (no need to save
in affinity designer)
4- Select the layer that says “your card/
design here” 6- That’s it! Your design will be placed
and ready to use.
