INDUSTRIAL VISIT REPORT
Summary:
Students of 7 AIML section visited Cochin Shipyard in Kochi, India, to explore the processes involved
in ship maintenance and repair. The session, led by Mr. Vishnu, provided valuable insights into the
shipyard’s operations, focusing on two main types of ships: defence ships equipped with weapons and
aircraft, and cargo ships designed for transportation. Key topics discussed included the buoyancy
principle critical for ship stability, the use of materials like steel and aluminium used in the ship’s
construction, and essential ship components such as jetties, tugboats, and anchors. The visit also covered
docking methodologies, including liquid and balloon docking with the tools necessary for it. The
various roles within the maritime industry, such as navigator, Electrical ETO, chief engineer, and
personnel in the gunnery department for defence ships were seen in the shipyard. The integration of AI
and ML in maritime had a scope in navigation purposes, and live demonstrations of docking tools were
presented, enriching the overall educational experience.

Summary:
7 AIML students visited UST Global located in Cochin India. Being headquartered in the United States,
company branches were present in most of the parts in India such as Bengaluru, Trivandrum, Cochin
and other locations. The visit began with an introduction to the company, highlighting its friendly work
culture, which fosters collaboration and innovation. Guided by Neha and Dhrishya, we toured the
impressive office spaces, including meeting rooms and modern workstations, which showcased the
company’s commitment to a dynamic work environment. In the second session, Mr. Asif facilitated a
discussion on work life, job roles, and ongoing projects, including a service Chabot developed for
McDonald's and other business tools aimed at serving major clients such as Amazon. The session
concluded with a Q&A, allowing participants to engage further with the topics discussed, followed by a
group photo to commemorate the visit. Overall, the experience provided valuable insights into the
operational and cultural aspects of UST Global.

Students of 7 AIML visited Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and was welcomed by Ms. Ashwitha
Mohan Menon, who introduced the company’s mission and values. Mr. Rajeev, Enterprise Architect at
TCS Cochin then led a session on current AI trends, focusing on cutting-edge tools and techniques. He
delved into Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), exploring their applications in image
classification, object detection, and facial recognition. Additionally, he discussed how advanced models
like Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Transformer architectures are reshaping fields such
as healthcare and autonomous systems. As a second half of session, Mr. Suresh provided guidance on
effective communication skills and interview techniques. He also conducted a mock introduction for
few students to boost their confidence and shared his experience with the interviews. The visit offered
valuable insights into AI advancements and industry practices.

real-time data monitoring and predictive maintenance. Their commitment to agility and customization
stood out as they demonstrated how they tailor solutions to meet unique client needs and adapt swiftly
to industry changes. This visit underscored the value of skilled teamwork and effective management in
driving digital innovation, showcasing how Spinach India leverages both technology and expertise to
transform business operations and enhance customer experiences.
