1.0 About This Document

1.1. Purpose

Purpose of this document is to provide the procedure to be followed for New Comba Switch configuration with
Pico BTS. Commissioning of Comba Switch and Pico BTS to be done on field.

2.0 Product information

SW2200 A03 Switch is a high performance and multiple functions hybrid switch. It contains 12nos 1G Eth

ports and 2nos 1G Optical Ports.

2.1. Product Application

• Product is use to connect multiple enb with single media inputs. As shown in below figure. Comba is taking
sync from external GPS and pass on Phase sync and SyncE on Ethernet Ports.

• 12 Gigabit Ethernet Ports switch

• Comply with IEEE802.3 related standard.

• Support 1588v2 & TCP/IP & SNMP protocol

• Support spanning tree, IGMP ,VLAN, QoS, bandwidth control, mirror, ping, and so on.

• PoE++ power supply module

• Support 1588v2 time synchronization and SyncE

• Supports unicast mode & broadcast mode PTP message

• Support event message & general message

• Support PTP delay mechanism.

• For outsource clock, supplies outsource GPS & RGPS interfaces

3.0 Web Page Configuration

3.1. Login

Connect the computer to LMT port. Configure the local IP of computer as 192.168.197.x (Not to Use

192.168.197.100) and open your browser, enter IP 192.168.197.100 to login web page as shown in

Figure 2-1. Chrome and IE (version 9.0 or above) are recommended.

The configuration is divided into two parts: switch module configuration and clock server

configuration. Switch-related configurations such as port configuration, VLAN configuration

and PTP configuration are under the menu “Switch”, while Clock Server-related configuration

such as GPS configuration and unicast configuration are under menu “Clock Server”. Please note

that both switch module and clock server has individual restart button.

1. Home Page: Click it to return to the home page as shown in Figure 3-2.

2. Logout: Logout the web page.

3. Show Help: Click it to view the descriptions of all items as shown in the page.

4. Port State Overview: Green indicates the port is in use.

5. Refresh: Click to refresh the page.

6. Auto-refresh: Check this box to refresh the page automatically. Automatic refresh occurs

every 3 seconds.

3.3. Switch Module Configuration

3.3.1. Username and Password

Switch->Configuration->Security->Users

User Name: A string identifying the user name. The allowed string length is 1 to 31. The valid user name

allows letters, numbers and underscores.

Password: The password of the user. The allowed string length is 0 to 31. Any printable characters

including space is accepted.

Privilege Level: The privilege level of the user. The allowed range is 1 to 15. If the privilege level value

is 15, it can access all groups, which means it grants the full control of the device. By default

setting, most groups belongs to privilege level 5 that has the read-only access, which privilege

level 10 has the read-write access. And the system maintenance (software upload, factory

defaults etc.) requires user privilege level to be 15. Generally, privilege level 15 can be used

for an administrator account, privilege level 10 for a standard user account and privilege level 5

for a guest account.

Note: Please change the user name and password for security reasons after login.

3.3.2. Management IP Configuration

Switch->Configuration->System->IP

IP Interface

VLAN: The VLAN associated with the IP interface. Only ports in this VLAN will be able to access

the IP interface. This field is only available for input when creating a new interface.

Enable: Enable the DHCPv4 client by checking this box. If this option is enabled, the system

will configure the IPv4 address and mask of the interface using the DHCPv4 protocol. The

DHCPv4 client will announce the configured System Name as hostname to provide DNS lookup.

Address: The IPv4 address of the interface in dotted decimal notation. Mask Length: The

length of subnet mask of management IP.

Add Interface: Click it to create a new item.

Click on Add Interface . Add the VLAN and IP details shared for remote login by planning team.

Click on Add Route. Enter gateway details and route to be allowed. Routing details need to be shared

by planning team and same needs to be configured. As seen in reference screenshot below default

route has been used and same can be configured as per planning inputs.

Please click “Save” to save changes or click “Reset” to undo any changes made locally and

revert to previously saved values.

Ping Response can be checked for Netact reachability once the configuration is completed.

Go to DiagnosticsPing . Enter the IP address for which reachability needs to be checked and click on

start.

Check login through browser with management IP in Netact/OSS . Enter login credentials and

should be able to login.

Ensure to save configuration as startup configuration once all changes has been executed.

Go to MaintenanceConfiguration Save startup-config. Click on Save Config.

Note: The IP should be set in the segment 192.168.197.xx in VLAN1 because switch

module need to telnet 192.168.197.241 to acquire GPS synchronization status. Otherwise the SyncE

function would be unavailable.

NTP Configuration

Mode: It indicates the NTP mode operation. Choose Enabled/Disabled to Enable/Disable

NTP client mode operation.

Server 1/2/3/4/5: Available NTP server IP address.

Please click “Save” to save changes or click “Reset” to undo any changes made locally and

revert to previously saved values.

Time Zone Configuration

Time Zone: Lists various Time Zones worldwide. Select appropriate Time Zone from the drop down and

click Save to set. For India We need to save GMT+5.30.

3.3.5. Port Configuration

Port˖ The logical port number for this row.

Link: Green indicates the link is up and red that it is down.

Current: Indicates the status of the port. Down means the port is up. Others indicate the speed.

Configured: Selects any available link speed for the given switch port. Only speeds supported by

the specific port are shown. The options are “Auto”, “10Mbps HDX/FDX”, “100Mbps HDX/FDX”, “1Gbps

FDX”. It is set as “Auto” by default.

1. Global VLAN Configuration

Allowed Access VLANs: This field shows the allowed Access VLANs, i.e. It only affects ports

configured as Access ports. Ports in other modes are members of all VLANs specified in the

Allowed VLANs field. By default, only VLAN 1 is enabled. More VLANs may be created by using

list syntax where the individual elements are separated by commas. Ranges are specified with a

dash separating the lower and upper bound. The following example will create VLANs 1, 10, 11, 12,

13, 200, and300 : 1,10-13,200,300. Spaces are allowed in between the delimiters..

3.3.7. SyncE Configuration

1. Clock Source Nomination and State

Need to define SSM Hold Over as QL SSUA Mode and SSM Locked as QL PRC mode. State of same

should be shown as Locked mode.

2. SyncE Ports

SSM Enable: Check the port as needed to transmit SyncE SSM message.

TxSSM: Monitoring of the transmitted SSM QL on this port. Transmitted QL should be the

Quality Level of the clock generated by this node. This means the QL of the clock source this

node is locked to.

1. PTP Clock Configuration

Add New PTP Clock: Click “Add New PTP Clock” to add a new PTP clock as shown in

Figure 3-11.

Delete: Check “Delete” and click “Save” to delete the corresponding PTP.

Clock Instance: The number of PTP item. After create the PTP, click it to go to the next page to finish

other configuration as shown in Figure 2-10.

Device Type: Indicates the Type of the Clock Instance. There are five Device Types: “Ord-Bound” -

Clock's Device Type is Ordinary-Boundary Clock. “P2p Transp” - Clock's Device Type is Peer

to Peer Transparent Clock. “E2e Transp” - Clock's Device Type is End to End Transparent Clock.

“Master Only” - Clock's Device Type is Master Only. “Slave Only” - Clock's Device Type is Slave Only.

2. Port Enable and Configuration

Port Enable: Check the ports as needed as shown in Figure 2-11.

3. Clock Default Dataset

Need to do all settings as shown in Figure 2-12

4. PTP Clock’s Port Data Set Configuration

Stat: Dynamic member port State: Current state of the port.

Anv: The interval for issuing announce messages in master state. Range is -3 to 4. ATo: The

timeout for receiving announce messages on the port. Range is 1 to 10. Dlm: Configurable

member delay mechanism: The delay mechanism used for the port: “e2e”-End to end delay

measurement; “p2p”-Peer to peer delay measurement. Can be defined per port in an

Ordinary/Boundary clock. In a transparent clock all ports use the same delay mechanism,

determined by the clock type.

Syv: The interval for issuing sync messages in master. Range is -7 to 4.

MPR: The interval for issuing Delay_Req messages for the port in E2e mode. This value is announced

from the master to the slave in an announce message. The value is reflected in the MDR field in

the Slave. And it is also the interval for issuing Pdelay_Req messages for the port in P2P mode.

Please do all values setting as shown in Figure 3-13.Please click “Save” to save changes or click

“Reset” to undo any changes made locally and revert to previously saved values.

192.168.197.241) and open your browser, enter IP 192.168.197.241 to login. Chrome and IE (version 9.0

or above) are recommended.

• 01-1B-19-00-00-00 shows its in Forwardable multicasting address
• Same setting configure Eth MAC address to be use as destination address for TOP packets.
• For 3G eNb Need to do traditional setting with SyncE and SSM enable.
