Introduction
In the realm of engineering, the accuracy and efficiency of fluid pumping systems are
paramount. This document presents a detailed comparison between traditional hand
calculations and simulation results obtained through Aspen HYSYS for analyzing delta
P in suction and discharge, as well as the suction and discharge pressures and pump
horsepower. By evaluating both methodologies, we aim to highlight the strengths and
limitations of manual calculations versus computational simulations, providing
insights that can enhance design and operational efficiency in pumping systems.
Through this analysis, we hope to foster a deeper understanding of how simulation
tools can complement traditional engineering practices.

Suction pressure drop -0.3506 bar -0.35 bar
Discharge pressure drop 0.4198 bar 0.447 bar
Suction pressure 1.351 bar 1.35 bar
Differential head 41.27 m 41.28 m
Pump duty 72.33 kw 72 kw
The above table shows that the hand calculations and simulation are nearly the same.
