Creating Microsoft Sysprep Deployment Package

Slide 3-44

• vCloud Director uses Microsoft sysprep packages to customize

VMware vSphere® vApp(s)™ during vApp deployment
• You must download these packages from Microsoft to your vCloud
Director server.
• The following packages can be used:

Windows 2000 <sysprep directory>/win2000

Windows 2003 (32-bit) <sysprep directory>/win2k3
Windows 2003 (64-bit) <sysprep directory>/win2k3_64
Windows XP (32-bit) <sysprep directory>/winxp
Windows XP (64-bit) <sysprep directory>/winxp_64
• To create the packages, use the command: /opt/vmware/cloud-
direc七or/deploymentPackageCrea七or/createSysprepPacka
ge. sh <sysprep files directory>.

vCloud Director uses Microsoft sysprep packages to customize VMware vSphere® vApp(s)TM
during vApp deployment. You should load Microsoft sysprep software on your vCloud Director
server before creating the packages. You must use the directory names specified above for each
sysprep package. You do not have to have all of the sysprep packages if you do not plan to deploy
all of these Windows operating systems in vApps.
Once the sysprep software is loaded into the proper directory structure on the vCloud Director
server, use the createSysprepPackage. sh script as shown.
