• Download the correct.bin file for vCloud Director to your vCloud


Director server.
• You might need to use the chined u+x command to change the.bin
file to an executable file.
• Execute the . bin file.
• Enter y to run the install configuration now.
• Enter the required information:
• Security certificate location and password
• Syslog server IP address (or resolvable host name)
• DB-server type, IP address (or resolvable host name), database port,
database name, database user-ID, and password
• The installation script reports the new URL for this vCloud Director cell.
Record this URL.

Now you should be ready to run the vCloud Director software install on the vCloud Director server.
The installation script asks you if you want to run the configuration script right after the install.
Doing so is a best practice. Make sure you have all required information ready:
• Location and password of your security certificates
• Your syslog server IP address
• Information needed to com1ect to the database server
After the configuration is completed, the script reports a new URL that will be needed to access this
vCloud Director cell console. Record this URL for future use.
