• You can use any compatible database (MS-SQL or Oracle).


• The database server should be accessible to vCloud Director servers.
• The database for the vCloud Director should be created prior to vCloud
Director installation.
• All vCloud Director cells must connect to the same vCloud Director
database.
• Be sure to follow the specific requirements for database settings and
security depending on the database vendor. Your database
administrator should consult vCloud Director Installation and
Configuration Guide in order to create and configure the vCloud
Director database correctly.

The database that will be used by vCloud Director must be created before installing the fi订st vCloud
Director cell. Specific requirements exist for database configuration and for the rights and privileges
that the user ID of the vCloud Director service will use to access the database. Make sure your
database administrator reads the section on configuring the database in vC!oud Director Installation
and Conji伊,ration Guide.
