1. State Bolzano-Weierstrass theorem and know that a cts function on a


closed bounded set is bounded. Know counter examples if set is not closed
or not bounded.

Give 3 equivalent conditions for a set to be closed.

Define â norm, define ll ll1 and ll ll-, know that all norms on IR, are
equivalent.

Know what a complete space is.

Be able to identify closed open sets and bounded sets (with justification).
Given a set, to be able to give its closure, interior and boundary.

Be able to give two definitions of continuity (at a point, for a function

Give bounded non-convergent sequences. Give a sequence in IR2 with no
convergent subsequence.

2. To know what â curve is, what is a smooth curve. To be able to give a


differentiable curve that is not Cl. To be able to calculate the length of
a curve.
