UNIT 8: NEW WAYS TO LEARN

Lesson 1: Getting started (New learning activities) – Time: 1 period

I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students are expected to achieve the
following objectives:
1. Knowledge:
- Vocabulary: Understand the meaning of the key words or word
collocations below
- Pronunciation: Pronounce the following words correctly
- Grammar: Learn and understand about the relative clause
2. Competencies:
a. General competencies:
- Form and improve such competencies as: collaboration, pairwork,
teamwork, problem-solving skill.
b. Specific competencies:
- Improve reading and speaking skills as well as vocabulary and
pronunciation
- Read for specific information
- Guess the meaning of words/ phrases in context.
3. Qualities:
- Find out new ways to learn
- Know the benefits of learning in new ways
II. PREPARATIONS
- Teacher (T): OHP, laptop, speaker, posters, pictures, handouts, teacher’s
books (ebook)
- Students (Ss): pencils, markers, blank papers, coloured cards, student’s
book
III. PROCEDURE
ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP (5’-GW)
1. Aim:
- To raise students’ interest in the lesson.
- To help Ss to identify the topic of the lesson “New learning activities”.
2. Content:
- T asks Ss what they are understand about the meaning of the line
3. Products:
- Ss answer the questions naturally.
4. Implementation:
- Play the game
