Drawing and illustration are two of the most common forms used
to convey a message.

A drawing is an art of representing an object or outlining a figure, plan or


sketch by means of lines.
On the other hand, an illustration can be presented in the form of a drawing, painting
or any printed work of art that explains a text or concept.
Visual graphic designing is the process of visual communication
and problem-solving using one or more of typography, photography and illustration.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ILLUSTRATION

1. ADVERTISING ILLUSTRATOR
Advertising illustrators typically work for clients such as marketing agencies or the
company itself to create artwork that conveys whatever idea the client wishes to
communicate.
2. PUBLISHING ILLUSTRATOR
A publishing illustrator creates images and drawings to communicate a story or idea
in various forms, including books, magazines, newspapers, greeting cards, and
advertisements.
3. MEDICAL ILLUSTRATOR
A medical illustrator creates illustrations or animations to visually represent medical
or biological subjects. They use their knowledge of anatomy, cell biology, and other
subjects to create images that can help explain complex concepts.
4. SCIENTIFIC ILLUSTRATOR
A scientific illustrator is an artist who creates visual representations of scientific
information to help communicate complex concepts in a way that's easy to
understand.

3 CATEGORIES OF AN ILLUSTRATOR
Employee - working full-time at a company. This means a " conventional "
job at an office, with a boss.
Freelancer - doing commissions for clients. This means being paid by various
clients to work on specific projects for them. You usually work from home.
Direct sales illustrator - selling art directly to the public. This means selling
finished artwork directly to buyers. You are working merely for yourself, not for
clients.

A tool is any instrument or object that you hold in your hands and use to do a particular
kind of work.
PENCIL - is a tool used for writing or drawing.
BRUSH - is a brush used to apply paint or sometimes ink. They come in
different sizes, shapes, and materials.
UNI PIN - is a fine line drawing pen that has various tip sizes and colors including
black, sepia, grey, red and blue.
ERASER - is a piece of rubber or other material used to remove markings made by
ink or pencil.
INDIA INK - is a popular black ink used for drawing and writing. It is primarily
used with ink-drawing pens, or for calligraphy work.
WATER COLORS - type of paint that can be mixed with water to create bright
layers of color on paper.
ACRYLIC or OIL PAINT - painting mediums like watercolors. Oil paint is said to
be "oil-based", whereas acrylic paint is "water-based” and dries faster.
CRAY- PAS - is a drawing stick. Unlike oil paints and watercolors, it is dry to the
touch.
TRIANGLE - is a three-sided ruler, which typically has two equal sides
meeting at a 90-degree angle and to a third side at 45, 30, including 60-degree
angles.

COMPASS - is used when drawing arcs and circles.

RULER - is used to measure length and draw straight lines.

FELT TIP PEN - is a marking pen which has its own ink source;
known as pentel pen.

container where you can put the water to be used in painting.

What is a Flowchart?
Flowcharts are easy to understand diagrams that show the different steps in
solving a specific problem.
What are the Basic Symbols of Flowchart?
A flowchart is commonly used by systems analysts to visualize the series of
processes in a business system.
A flowchart consists of elements, such as the terminator, process, sub process, decision,
arrow lines, and connectors.
1. Terminator
Start / End Terminator Symbol

A terminator is represented by a small rectangle with curved corners. A terminator appears


at the start and at the end of a flowchart. The end terminator appears only once on a single
flowchart.

A process is represented by a rectangle. It refers to an action in a business


process.

Decision Symbol

A decision is represented by a diamond. A process that can answer a decision of "yes"


or "no" requires a decision box.
