Uses:
Websites can be use for things like information or entertainment and
another way is to buy the product online by entering your details in a valid
form when asked on checkout page.

Advantages of a website :
1. Online Presence

 A website gives visitors a central platform to find you on, helping


potential customers or clients locate your business more easily.
 Legitimacy: Having a clean site makes your business looks more
legitimate and credible. It is the foremost thing that people know about
your business or brand.

2. Accessibility:

 It Serves 24/7: Your website serves you round the clock as opposed to
your physical location and social media profile which are operational
for a limited time only; users can learn about your services or products
easily anytime from anywhere.
 Global Reach: A site can serve a global perspective allowing your
business to afford and widen its market without any regional or local
boundaries.

3. Marketing and Branding:

 Feature your brand: You can have a website to showcase what you and
or business represents, for example: logo, mission & values. Basically,
a blank slate for your branding.
 Content Marketing : You might find it helpful to publish blog posts,
articles or videos in order to interact with your audience and improve
search engine rankings while creating thought leadership.

4. Customer Engagement:

 Direct Communication: Contact forms, chatbots or comment sections


allow for direct communication with your audience and so promote
feedback and engagement.
 Personalization : Websites can show users a personalized experience,
such as only recommending shows for adults that are better suited to

Disadvantages of a website:
The advantages of having a website are many — but there may be some
disadvantages as well:

1. Initial Costs

 The cost of development: Developing a quality website can be


expensive, and hiring competent designers or developers to help is no
small task. For instance, there are costs for domain registration and
hosting as well as certain (custom) features.
 Ongoing Maintenance: Updates, security patches and possible
redesigns contribute to the long-term costs of owning a website.

2. Time-Consuming:

 Creating Content: Building a website requires time, from planning and


brainstorming to content creation as well as regular blog updates.
 Content Updates: Fresh, relevant content needs continuous updating
which can be a challenge if you are not staffed for it.

3. Technical Challenges:

 Complexity: Websites are relatively complex, and they generally


require a few hoops to jump through – hosting (server space), security
options of different types, responsible design for today's devices. The
average user will have a hard time with this.
 Website Security Risks: Websites can become targets for cyberattacks,
such as hacking, malware installation and data theft which may edit or
delete data in their servers hence the web developers need to ensure

4. SEO: The Fundamental Step of Optimization:

 Visibility: Reach high ranking in search engines is a time consuming


task and often requires dedicated SEO knowledge. If you do not
optimize this, your website may fail to generate enough traffic.
 Changes in Algorithms: The algorithms of search engines are often
altering which could interfere with the visibility of your web site and
demand frequent modifications towards Search engine marketing
strategy being implemented.

5. Maintenance and Updates:

 Specific links and technical errors: Broken or outdated content that


needs to be fixed, due for update (broken link redirects), etc.

 Static: Presents the same content to all users.

 Dynamic: content changes based on what features are


utilized/contributed and/or when occurrences happen.

This can be from personal blogs, to corporate websites and e-commerce


platforms as well educational resources or anything you will find on the
internet.

pages. HTML elements are the building blocks of html pages.

 CSS:
Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) is a stylesheet language used to design the
presentation of a document written in HTML.

 JAVASCRIPT:
JavaScript is a scripting or progrmming language that
enables you to create interpreted and dynamic content, control multimedia
and animated images.

 BOOTSTRAP:
Bootstrap is a popular front-end framework used in
web development. Its purpose is to provide developers with a set of pre-designed
and reusable components, such as buttons, forms, grids, and navigation bars, that
can be easily used to build responsive and visually appealing websites.
