GSuite Writeup
IISc has now access to G Suite Enterprise edition for education. G Suite has various
modules built in. This document helps in giving an overview of all the application
Modules within our institute as applicable. Almost all the modules have been turned
ON for access to academic users within the institute except the Gmail module.
Please find below a high-level overview of the various Application Modules covered
under G Suite. Please send your comments and feedback over mail to

Assignments:
Purpose: Easily distribute, analyse, and grade student work with Assignments for
your LMS.
Calendar:
Classroom:
A free and easy tool helping educators efficiently manage and assess progress, while
enhancing connections with learners from school, from home, or on the go.
Google Drive encompasses Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides, which
are a part of an office suite that permits collaborative editing of documents,
spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, forms, and more. Files created and edited
through the office suite are saved in Google Drive.
This provides easy and secure access to all of your content through which you can
easily Store, share, and collaborate on files and folders from any mobile device, tablet,
or computer
Gmail:
Turned OFF. Most users already have personal Gmail IDs. Further all IISc users have
official email IDs on Office 365. This feature is turned off since it would lead to an
inconvenient management of your emails. We can not auto forward mails from the
official office 365 account as your Gsuite ID is the same.
The classic Hangouts to Google Chat migration started in earnest for G Suite
customers. Free accounts are expected to get transitioned next, and there are now
signs that this is underway. Over the past few days, classic Hangouts users are
receiving messages in Google Chat.

Legal Holds – Administrators can place a hold on individual users to ensure their data
is retained as long as required for legal purposes.
Search – Google’s powerful search capabilities can be used on all data within an
organisations domain; by user account, date, file type or keyword.
Export – All data can be exported from Google Vault for further processing and
external use.
Audit Reports – These reports can be used to find out about the particular actions
users have taken during a specific time period.
