Work health and safety is relevant in every organization and is directly


impacted by a variety of governing bodies and legislative frameworks both on a
local and national level. In this Course, students are introduced to work health
and safety laws from local, national and international perspectives. Course
develops the students' skills in applying various work health and safety
legislation and guidance materials to achieve a safe and healthy workplace.

7. Course Main Objective(s)

1. Provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to


effectively comply with occupational safety, health and environmental
regulations and standards, when functioning as a safety and health
professional.
2. Prepare the student to function in an ethical manner in all safety, health
and environmental responsibilities and activities.
3. Prepare students to operate within a regulatory environment, including
participation in legislative and litigation aspects of the legal system.
