PCB Terminology 2
Pad – A portion of exposed metal on the surface of a board to Board Thickness should be 0.8 mm to 2.4 mm
which a component is soldered. Thicker copper layers are useful for high current, high
reliability design
Trace - a continuous path of copper on a circuit board. Thickness is measured in ounces per square foot
1oz = 28.349523g
Silkscreen - The letters, number, symbols and imagery on a Track-width is measured in thous (or mils) 5
circuit board. Usually only one colour is available, and thou=0.127mm
resolution is usually fairly low. For 1 amp current track width = 0.254mm
