EXAM REGISTRATION – MOST FREQUENT ERROR MESSAGES

Registrar’s Office help-desk attendance in Hungarian and English language: between 7 and
8am on both exam registration starting days available at [email protected]. Please
make sure to provide your Neptun-ID and if possible a screenshot of the problem occurred.
As of 08 am your regular RO officer will be available – please after 8am contact him/her.
User guides: https://neptun.pte.hu/en/neptun/user-guides/students

• State: Waiting for free place. Nincs szabad hely.

In the beginning of the exam registration period the service may become too slow or become
unreachable due to overload (very high number of users being in the system at the same time).
Please try logging in again.

• Az Ön belépési jogosultsága átmenetileg letiltásra került (= Your access to Neptun is

temporarily banned.)
Probably you personally (or your device trying to reach some university provided Wifi
connection) tried to log in to the network using false or mistyped Neptun password several
times and therefore the system blocked your account. In this case, please visit the
password.pte.hu site to unlock your account, or if you do not succeed please send your
Neptun-ID to [email protected] between 7 and 8am on the first two exam registration
days. Out of this period, please contact your administrative officer.
IMPORTANT! Neptun login works with 2-factor authentication only!

authentication)

• Your exam registration is forbidden in the current term!

Exam registration may be banned for the following reasons:
Please check, if you have missing payment with active status (meaning it is unsettled): in
Neptun go to Finances / To be paid by settling the missing payment the banning will be
released immediately.
The RO might have sent you a message stating that you might have problem with:
- your matriculation card signature: in Neptun under Administration – Requests save it to
pdf, print it out, sign it and bring it to your RO officer
- your study contract signature: in Neptun under Document storage print it out and bring
it to your RO officer
- RO misses your valid residency card’s data: take a photo of the card and send it to your
RO officer’s e-mail
- you have book or money debts in the Library. Please settle the debts. If the library debt
prevents the applying for an exam, you need to pay the debt online, and then you can
update the system on the following website: https://neptun-atkuldes.lib.pte.hu/student
Please note, that the system is refreshing only once a day automatically at 22:30
- you do not have valid health aptitude test result: students without a valid health aptitude
test result can be barred from taking part in the exam period
Please note that removing banning in these cases might take time – may you receive e-mail of
these situations from your RO officer, please make up the missing items well before the exam
registration period.
You might also receive the same message if you are trying to sign up for exam for a subject
that ends with mid-semester grade (and not exam or final exam).

• Your retake exam fee (IV fee) is not paid.

During your studies (not necessarily in the given semester) taking the 3rd or further exam (after
2 or more failed exams earlier) in a subject requires a retake fee to be transcribed and paid in
Neptun by the student before signing up for the exam. Please follow the instructions in this
manual to transcribe and pay for the retake fees in this subject.
You can check your subjects in this semester which one(s) require(s) retake exam fee: Subjects
> Registered subjects > in “No. of times registered for” column look for rows showing 2 or
more.
Under Exams/Overview you can find Result from earlier terms, where you can count how many
failing marks you have in the given subject altogether so far. If 2 or more: arrange retake fee
payment for that subject.

• No exam date appears for the subject

It is the departments’ duty to announce the exam dates up in Neptun. Please ask the
department about the missing exam dates.

• The exam fee appears to be 0 Forints

Please contact your RO officer, she/he will ask the central offices to correct the bug.

• The exam registration condition is not fulfilled! or Exam registration is not allowed. There is
no exam registration period.
This message appears when there is no exam regisration period yet.
In case you have a feedback bonus for this semester and you face this failure message, please
write to [email protected] to have your banning released.

• The exam registration condition is not fulfilled but not with other subjects.

In some cases the prerequisite for registering for an exam is to have the signature or grade
from the practice course. The requirement of the exam registration for the lecture is the
completion of the practice. Please contact the course director of the practice course.

• Your previous exam result has not been entered yet!

Prerequisite for registering for an exam is to have the result (grade or note on missed exam)
entered to your previous exam. The examiner department is in charge for this – please contact
them.

IMPORTANT!!! The Neptun system indicates successful exam registrations via push-notifications. In
case one of the conditions of exam registration is not fulfilled, the user likewise receives a push-
notification about the reason of the registration being unsuccessful. The new Neptun platform
handles the exam registrations according to a slightly different logic when compared to the old
system, thus it is important to remember that the exam registration is only successful if the push-
notification about it has been received.
