PRERNA
Program to Reach, Educate, Nurture and Aid
ABOUT STEM LEARNING
STEM Learning is a social enterprise aimed to facilitate and integrate the partnerships from several stakeholders
(Public Sectors, Government Bodies, Private Sectors, Non-Profit Sectors, private schools and philanthropists) in
education sector. The key community whom we cater to are school children who need to be ingrained with the basic
concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
STEM aims to lessen the gap between contextual and rote based learning, and replace it with a practical approach,
which will equip children with the skills and knowledge needed to get lucrative opportunities in their fields of
interest. With the help of its innovative program, the (Mini Science Centre), more than a million students have
already benefited in 24 states across India. With MSC being installed in 2000 schools, more than 8000 teachers have
also been trained to make teaching process more effective.
STEM Learning to its credit has the models are approved by 7 SCERT - Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Odisha,
Nagaland and Jammu & Kashmir for their alignment with the curriculum. ( www.stemlearning.in )
STEM Learning believes that every child deserves access to quality education.
B: Vision Statement: To be recognized globally for bringing innovative learning products in School Education and
contributing to the society by reaching to the less privileged students.
What is Tinkering?
To put across simply, Tinkering is basically experimenting with various electronic, robotic and
technology tools; understanding their potential and thereby creating a solution for any problem.
Tinkering involves:
STEM TINKER PRERNA has been made to develop modern skill sets amongst underprivileged youngsters by
providing them with access to multiple technologies and enabling them to build/make new solutions to solve
the challenges present in the society.
The objective is to build curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds and to develop skills like Design
Mind Set, Computational Thinking, Adaptive Learning, Physical Computing, etc. This helps immensely because
the global scenario of Future Work Skills is increasingly being considered as an important skill set for creating
new avenues, providing solutions to global problems, and leading the global economy towards the Fourth
Industrial Revolution.
• How will we prepare our children for a world that is constantly changing?
• How will we prepare today's workers for jobs that don't even have titles yet?
• How will we prepare ourselves for a lifetime of learning?
We need a new set of skills, and a new way to learn.
• We are at a crucial stage when the Indian Government is promoting initiatives such as Make in India,
Skill India, Digital India, Tinkering Labs to encourage manufacturing, technology usage and skill
development in the country.
• STEM is turning out to be an essential and integral component of our education. Once a kid develops a
passion for STEM fields, it smoothens the decision making process to choose a right field to pursue ones
career. It will help to
• Create great thinkers, innovators, engineers and scientists that our society and industry needs.
• This is essential for our future prosperity and to our nation in order to develop competitiveness and
play a vital role in a global economy.
st
• Teachers equip teaching methodology which enhances 21 century skills.
• STEM certification of teachers.
• Become a STEM peer leader for other teachers.
Objectives- The aim of this program is to encourage curiosity, creativity and imagination in young
minds and inculcate skills like designing abilities, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical
computing, and quick calculation etc. It’s a best chance for young mind to work with tools and
equipment to understand about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math’s.

Case Study of Virtual Tinker Training Program
A Group of 13 students living in rural places from different states took the opportunity to join the
Virtual Tinker Workshop Program. Where they just learn basics of tinkering and with that much
information they made intermediate level apps and Games. You can also do such type of exciting
things by joining this workshop. This workshop is for 5 days where you will learn about Scratch and
Mobile app inventor software. This workshop helps you to make an animation, game, and app, etc.
within 1hrs.
Case study of Tinker Training Program in 2 schools
Trainers from STEM learning explained about the tinkering lab to the students and
teachers of BBMP
Girls PU Composite College (High School) and BBMP Public High School,
RT Nagara respectively so as
to develop scientific temper among them.
Modules:
1. Scratch
2. Arduino
3. Mobile app inventor
4. Robotics
5. 3D printing
Outcome
• Apple Game
• Car race
• Maze game
• Conversation between to Person
• Differentiations about their
lessons like different between
plant cell and animal cell in
animated.
➢ Students learned about basic Arduino programming. They did simple Arduino experiments like LED
blinking, multiple LED, Buzz button, Serial monitor. Students & teachers are trained about Arduino
