GNMATH PERFORMANCE TASK MIDTERM

CREATIVE SCRAPBOOK MAKING

Performance Task:
Using your understanding of the previous lessons on the different types of functions,
students will assume the role of a field expert that will try to analyze and solve real-life
problems. The students will make their 3 own world problem, represent data clear and detailed
manner through a scrapbook and must provide appropriate solution to the identified problem
incorporating concepts learned from the previously discussed lessons.
Goal: Your task as a group, is to present your assigned topic in logical manner and give at least 3
examples per topic and identify real-life situations that make use of function in any of the
following fields – academic, technical vocational, arts and designs, environment, sports and/or
other fields related to your current courses.
Role: Your team will assume the role of field experts who can provide probable solutions to
professionals who seek help to address field problem/s. In order to accomplish this task, the
members of the group should perform the following roles:
1. A planner who acts as the leader of the team: he/she will lead the group in proposing
specific solutions to real-life problems, and leader of group in creating a scrapbook with
the solutions for its clientele.
2. Researchers who will lead in data gathering.
3. A mathematician who will check the appropriateness of the model function used in
solving the real-life problem, and the accuracy of the solution to the problem.
Audience: Your audience includes clients who sought professional help for their concerns..
Situation: Your group, as field experts, are challenged to provide probable solutions to existing
community problems using basic concepts of functions and present it through an organized, clear
and detailed manner through a scrapbook– using appropriate table of values, arrow diagram,
graphs, sets to convince the clients of your probable solutions to their (assumed) problems.
Product: Your Group must be able to provide a probable solution to the identified problem
existing in the community and present it through an organized, clear and detailed manner through
a scrapbook - using appropriate table of values, arrow diagram, graphs, sets to convince the
clients of your probable solutions to their (assumed) problems.
