Submitted To:
Dr. Giselda Bonsol
Scenario 5: One team member is very sensitive and emotional. This member gets
upset when she/he doesn’t feel listened to and is extremely offended if all of his or
her ideas do not get used. To further complicate matters, most of this team
member’s ideas are not practical.
Characters:
Racy – Manager/Boss
Reivin - Sensitive and Emotional team member
Ettienne - Team Leader
Ailyn - Team member/Narrator

Scene 1: Company Meeting Room - Day

Racy : Good morning, everyone. I have some exciting news to share. We
have a new project coming up and it’s going to be huge.

Reivin : (excitedly raising hand) Can I share some Ideas?

Racy : (Racy glances at Reivin, and turn her eye back to Etienne) Mr.
Etienne, I’ll assign this project to your team, and present to me your
proposal after a week. (glances back at Reivin) Ms. Reivin since you
are under Mr. Etienne’s team, you can share your ideas with them.
That’s all for now, the meeting adjourned. (walks and leave the
meeting room)

Scene 2: Company Meeting Room - Later

Team members engage in a brainstorming session, sharing ideas for the project.

Etienne : Do you have any ideas now?

Reivin : (raises her hand) What if we implement AI for that? I’m sure it could
really enhance the user experience.

Ailyn : But isn’t it too expensive to implement?

Etienne : (noting down) Got it, Reivin. Thanks for the suggestion.

Scene 3: Company Boardroom

The team presents their proposal to their boss

Etienne : And that’s all, thank you.

Racy : (looking down at the powerpoint presentation) hmm okay, so you want
to implement a —

Reivin : (interrupts) Wait, why is my suggestion not included in the proposal?

(looking at Etienne) Why did all of you always dismiss the idea I
suggested? Are you saying that my idea is not well thought of?

Ms. Reivin exits the meeting room, visibly frustrated, followed by concerned
coworkers

Reivin: (frustrated) Why do my contributions always seem to go unnoticed?

Scene 5: Ms. Racy’s Office

Etienne : Ms. Racy I’m so sorry for what Ms. Reivin acted earlier. I didn’t know
that she would react like that just because I didn’t include her idea
because it is not practical for this project.

Racy : I understand Etienne that as a team leader, you just want to present
the best for this project. However, you should know how to
communicate this matter to your members properly. I know you know
the feeling of making an effort of suggesting ideas but not being
noticed.

Etienne : I’m sorry for that Ms. Racy. I will apologize to Reivin too.
Racy : Okay Mr. Etienne you can go now. Can you also tell Ms. Reivin to go
to my office? I will talk to her also.

Etienne : (nod) Yes, ma’am.

(Etienne exits the room)

Scene 6: Ms. Racy’s Office

Ms. Racy waits for Reivin to come to her office. After a couple of minutes, Reivin
enters the room

Racy : Ms. Reivin please take a seat. I know you are still frustrated about
what happened but I’m gonna be straight to the point here. Ms. Reivin,
the action you did earlier is not the right attitude of a professional
person. I understand what you are feeling right now. Frustrated, and
the feeling of not being enough. However, you also need to know that it
is not right to let your emotions control you, especially in front of other
professionals. You need to clear your mind first so I’m granting you a
few days off to regroup, and when you return, we will talk about my
decisions about this matter.

Reivin : I’m sorry Ms. (exits the room)

Scene 7: Meeting Room

Reivin returns to her work and Ms. Racy called Ms. Reivin and Mr. Etienne for a
meeting.

Racy : Good morning, everyone, before we dive into today’s agenda, I

wanted to address an important matter regarding our team dynamics.

Team : (nods in attention)

Racy : As you all know, recent events have highlighted the need for us to
improve our communication and relationship here in our workplace.
Reivin :(nervously) I…. I just want to say I’m sorry for my behavior. I realize I
let my emotions get the best of me.

Racy : (smiles at Reivin) Thank you for your honesty Reivin. We all have
moments of frustration but it’s how we handle them that matters. Which
brings me to the next point.

Racy : (looks at everyone) It is important to communicate effectively and

respect each other’s ideas. Mr. Etienne you should inform your
members properly to avoid other conflicts and you, Ms. Reivin, you
also need to manage your emotions better in the workplace. And for
that, I’ve decided to put you in a seminar where both of you can get the
help that you’ll need when it comes to the workplace. I’ve also decided
to put the team in a weekly program of meditation to help you guys
manage your stress and emotions. I hope this issue ends here.

Reivin : (nods) Yes ma'am Racy!

Etienne : Yes, ma’am Racy!

Scene 8: The Return of Positivity

The team is now working tremendously and positively without any problem in the
workplace. They can be seen smiling and laughing while working, their boss can be
seen from afar and is thankful for the results that they have given to the company.
