Letter of Intent

DEAN JOSE AGUILA
GRAPILON
Greetings of Peace and
Universal Wisdom!
Dear Dean Grapilon,
I hope this letter finds you
in good health and high
spirits. I am writing to
express my strong interest
in
pursuing a legal education
at Philippine law school. As
an aspiring law student, I
have conducted
extensive research and
carefully considered
options, and it is with a
great enthusiasm that I
submit this
letter of intent.
From a young age, I have
been captivated by the law
and its profound impact on
society. Through my
academic journey and
professional experiences, I
have cultivated a passion
for justice, legal advocacy,
and the pursuit of truth. It is
my fervent belief that a
legal education from
Philippine Law school will
provide me with the
necessary tools, knowledge
and skills to effect positive
change in the world and in
the Philippines to be
specific.
I have always been a
diligent and dedicated
student, I consistently
striving for excellence in
my academic
pursuits. My undergraduate
studies in Bachelor of
secondary education major
in mathematics at
Mindanao State University
have equipped me with a
strong foundation in critical
thinking, analytical
reasoning, and effective
communication, all of which
are essential attributes for
a successful law student
practitioner.
Furthermore, I have
actively sought out
opportunities to immerse
myself in the legal field. I
have
volunteered at a local legal
aid clinic, assisting
individuals who are unable
to afford legal
representation.
This experience has
provided me with valuable
insights into the challenges
faced my marginalized
communities and has
reinforced my commitment
to social justice.
In addition to my academic
and volunteer experiences,
I have honed my leadership
skills through various
extracurricular activities as
President of MSU-LNAC
Supreme Student Council, I
have successfully
managed team and
organized events. This
leadership experience have
enhanced my ability to
work
effectively in diverse
setting and instilled in me a
strong sense of
responsibility and ability. If
granted the
opportunity to join the
esteemed student in
Philippine law school, I
pledge to contribute
actively to the
academic community by
engaging in meaningful
discussions.
I sincerely appreciate your
time and consideration of
my application. Attached
with this letter is my
completed application,
personal statement, and
transcript of record I would
be grateful for any further
information or guidance
regarding the application
process. Thank you!
Sincerely yours,
Villaflor N. Vinte Jr.

ATTY. HONORIO G. BUCCAT JR.

Dean, College of Law
DMMMSU-MLUC

Sir:

Greetings with grit in the name of freedom and democracy!

There is no place like home. DMMMSU's mantra is embracing world-class

standards, and having experienced quality education in Bachelor of Arts in
Political Science at DMMMSU-MLUC, I am drawn to DMMMSU College of Law
with confidence that it upholds the same commitment to excellence. I am
eager to continue pursuing my aspirations and academic journey in an
environment I already consider my home, known for its unwavering
dedication to imparting world-class quality education.

Moreover, my pursuit of Political Science in college is rooted in my aspiration

to become a lawyer—a profession that was also the dream of my late
grandmother for me, who only completed Grade 2 but lovingly taught me
how to read and raised me with immense love. Therefore, if granted the
opportunity to be admitted to your esteemed institution, known for its world-
class standards, I will not only fulfill my own dream but also honor the dream
of the woman who understood my passion when others suggested
alternative paths.

However, I admit feeling immensely scared and overwhelmed by the

pressure from both external expectations and internal aspirations. Through
God’s grace, I graduated Magna Cum Laude, coming just half an inch away
from achieving Summa Cum Laude, with the highest GPA to lead the
Graduating Batch of 2024. While these recognitions hold little weight in law
school—a distinct social equalizer—I am keenly aware of the responsibilities
and challenges ahead, and I don’t want to disappoint myself, because if it’s
worth doing, it’s worth doing well.

I am taking a leap of faith, hopeful that the pressure and expectations will
fuel my performance, akin to the pygmalion effect. As I navigate this new
labyrinth, there is much I do not yet understand, but I approach it with a
thirst for knowledge and growth. Also, I am reminded of wise words from a
wise man, who once told me that my imagination sets my limits—
coincidentally, the same person I address in this letter. Therefore, standing at
this threshold, I am driven by a profound passion for the art of law. My
commitment to equity and my eagerness to unravel complexities propel me
forward on this transformative journey. With God’s guidance, I aim to thrive
and excel in this new endeavor. Thank you very much, and may the Lord
bless us all.

Respectfully yours,

REJAY M. ABEL
