Buck DC – DC Converters
1.The buck converter of Figure 1 has the following parameters: supply voltage (V s) =
24.0 V, duty ratio (D) = 0.65, L = 250.0 μH, C = 75.0 μF, and R = 10.0 Ω.
The switching frequency is 25.0 kHz. Determine:
a. the average output voltage,
b. the maximum and minimum inductor current, and
c. the output voltage ripple.
d. The average and rms switches currents.

2. The buck converter of Fig. 2 has an input of 50 V and an output of 25 V. The

switching frequency is 100 kHz, and the output power to a load resistor is 125 W
Determine:
a. the duty ratio.
b. the value of inductance to limit the peak inductor current to 6.25 A.
c. the value of capacitance to limit the output voltage ripple to
0.5 percent.
d. The average and rms inductor and capacitor currents

65.0 μH, C = 200.0 μF, and R = 12.5Ω, and switching frequency = 40.0 kHz.
Determine:
a. the average output voltage,
b. the average, maximum, and minimum inductor currents,
c. the output voltage ripple, and
d. the average current in the diode.
