INFANT VICTIM
1. SCENE is safe. BSIP (Body Substance Isolation Precaution) ON.
2. I saw _____ victim,______ bystander
3. “I’m _________________________, trained first aider, may I help”?
4. Check RESPONSIVENESS of the victim: Tickle the sole of the foot. “Hey baby, are you OK?” (3x)
5. Victim is unresponsive, “please ACTIVATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE as I assess the victim”
6. Check AIRWAY (Neutral Head tilt-chin lift). “Airway is clear, NO obstruction seen”
7. Check BREATHING and CIRCULATION
Palpate Brachial Pulse: Look, Listen, and Feel for 10secs (count 1001, 1002, 1003…. up to 1010)
8. Victim is breathless, give 2 breaths
1st and 2nd air given: bounced back. “Confirmed with obstruction or the baby is choking ”
9. Do FBAO Management: perform 5 back blows/slaps and 5 chest thrust
“Obstruction seen, do finger sweeping”
10. Give 2 confirmatory breaths: (1STand 2nd air given goes in)
11. Re-Check BREATHING and CIRCULATION
Palpate Brachial Pulse: Look, Listen, and Feel for 10secs (count 1001, 1002, 1003…. up to 1010)
12. “Victim is breathless and pulse less or (-) breathing & (-) pulse.” (victim’s condition: Cardiac arrest)
13. “Follow up medical assistance, perform CPR – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation”
CPR = 30 compressions, 2 ventilations for 5 cycles within 2 minutes
Lower half of sternum: use 2 fingertips in between the imaginary nipple line

18. Victim is revived, with (+) pulse and (+) breathing.
19. Place victim to recovery position (upright)
20. Recheck breathing for 10 seconds while rubbing infant’s back, (count 1001, 1002, 1003,… 1010)
21. Do secondary survey: Head to toe assessment for BLOOD, PAIN and DCAPBTLS
22. Do the V.I.D.E. - monitor Vital signs, Interview the mother/parents of the victim, Document all first aid given
and Endorse properly to the medical assistance
ADULT VICTIM

5. Victim is unresponsive, “please ACTIVATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE and get/bring AED if possible as I
assess the victim”
6. Check AIRWAY (Maximum Head tilt-chin lift). “Airway is clear, NO obstruction seen”
7. Check BREATHING and CIRCULATION
Palpate carotid pulse: Look, Listen, and Feel for 10secs (count 1001, 1002, 1003…. up to 1010)
8. “Victim is breathless and pulse less or (-) breathing & (-) pulse.” (victim’s condition: Cardiac arrest)
