Comprehensive Data Visualization and

Business Intelligence Assignment

Context
In today's data-driven world, businesses rely heavily on data visualization and business
intelligence (BI) tools to make informed decisions. The ability to analyze and visualize data
effectively can provide valuable insights, leading to better strategic decisions and improved
business outcomes. This assignment aims to provide students with practical experience in
using data visualization and BI tools, specifically Tableau and Power BI, to analyze,
visualize, and interpret data in a meaningful way.

Content
In this assignment, students will work with a public dataset to explore various aspects of
data visualization and business intelligence. They will learn the principles of data
visualization, understand the process of business intelligence, and develop skills in data
storytelling. Additionally, students will gain hands-on experience in connecting to data
sources, transforming data, and creating a variety of visualizations using Tableau and Power
BI. The assignment will cover techniques such as creating different types of charts, applying
DAX functions, and improving report performance. Students will also learn to format and
configure visualizations, apply conditional formatting, use bookmarks, and design reports
for mobile devices.

Data Description
For this assignment, we will use the 'Global Superstore' dataset, which contains sales data
for a global retail chain. The dataset includes information on orders, products, customers,
and regions. The dataset can be accessed at the following link:
